I'm still trying to find out about this club, as I contacted them awhile back about joining and they haven't replied to me, it seem's to me as someone who had rejoined angling after an absence of 10 years from fishing that with all the problem's the sport has they might of bothered....

Still, I've got a season ticket a Premiership

club and they have the same attitude.

Anyhow, I only like waggler/stick fishing and

as far as I can tell this is 2nd rate nowadays.....I hope someone can tell me this

isn't the case.

Second rate? Never! It's just not particularly fashionable at the moment. The fishing world and especially the media seem to be very much obsessed with the pole and the boilie. In the meantime there are plenty of anglers out there catching the proverbial shedfull using supposedly unfashionable methods. Whilst the stick float may be a little specialised as it's primarily a flowing water method, the waggler will always be a good all-round method for catching (with a little adaption) every species of fish that swims. And any method that gives you pleasure can never be regarded as second rate can it? Personally I'd never go anywhere without a waggler rod!

One of my fondest memories of recent years is trotting a float along the river at the Bluebell fishery in Northamptonshire. I was catching gudgeon, dace and skimmers of a few ounces max. It was superb fun.

No style of fishing should be 'in' or 'out' - I think each angler should do what he or she wants to do when he or she feels like it, or the situation dictates it.

Tight Lines,

Elton
