how do you shot the lift method for the pole what is the best bait for the lift method help please!

depends what your fishing for ?

 

if its bream/tench/carp i'd use a big bait either meat or paste fished dead depth .so the bait cocks the float .

 

the float will either rise when they pick it up or sink as usual as they move off with the bait.

im fishin for tench hw much line shall i leave between hook and shot and what shot shall i put on

Not really sure if you can use the lift method on the pole. Maybe if there is no breeze, and you can hold it dead still it may work.

 

I tried it this morning with almost no breeze and the pole in rests, but even then there was still some drag.

 

My advice is to fish at least 4" over depth, bottom shot just off the bottom.
