When I arrived to fish last Wednesday, Jim Gibbinson was fishing over the far side of the lake, so I decided to have a wander and to say 'hello'. As I approached, he was moving his seat back from his rods and explained that he'd just seen three fish, two possible 20's and a smaller one, cruising the margins with the 'right' body language i.e. looking for food.

 

As a result, he'd dropped his baits a couple of feet out from his rod tips.

 

Within two minutes of me meeting him, the Delkim on his left hand rod went, the indicator rose and Jim was into a fish, which turned out to be a 20lb 4oz Mirror.

 

It was so cool to see him at work, even though it gave me a good idea of the learning curve that I need to embark upon if I'm to catch fish like that on a regular basis.

 

As soon as I get the pictures developed, I'll put one or two up on this site.
