Hi folks.

I've been browsing this site from work on and off for the last week, (like it!) so thought it was time to surface from the deep.

I'm a pleasure fisherman particularly interested in Barbel. After 3 years away from fishing I've just joined my old club CSAS (any members here?) and through this got a discount Reading & District (any members here?) ticket, so I've got plenty Kennet to choose from. I know the CSAS stretch very well and reasonably confident I can still find the Barbel here.

Can anyone tell me of other good Barbel stretches of the Kennet on the R & D ticket?

Thanks

Rich W.

I fisrt started fishing the Kennet last season for chub and got to know a few Barbel anglers on me travels up and down the RDDA section. The most popular sections without doubt were Upper and Lower Benyons. Basically any swim but the more features the better. These stretches do get popular!

Also worth a bash are the areas below mills and weirs on the RDAA section.

I preferred chub fishing because I like to keep mobile and like to pick my swims rather than have to chose from the limited number available on heavily fished stretches.

Hope that sorts you out.

Alan
