Wet Wellies

Those of you who have seen the top quality series "A Passion for Angling" should remember a comical scene where both Chris and Bob had to jump into Redmire in order to land a nice Carp. Well, a similar experience happened to me last season which I thought you might like to know about.

I have only gotten wet feet once, when I jumped into a particularly steep stretch of the Ouse in Sussex (owned by my club) to rescue a section of my pole which was rapidly racing downstream. It took the bloke in the next peg 20mins to pull me out. He was laughing so much he had lost all his strength (and he should of had plenty judging by the size of him).

He didn't seem to be laughing so much after his peg went right off afterwards, and mine seemed to come on fire, resulting in a section win. Must of been all that stiring up of the bottom that my size 10's were doing.

Sometimes the best fortune comes from the worst luck (if that makes sense).

That's just fishing I suppose, and one of the main reasons I love it so.
