Pellet Preparation

Recommended Posts

I have just bought some Ringers Bagup pellets(4mm), I am am wondering which is the best way to prepare them.

I have been told to soak them in boiling water for 1 minute, then in cold water for 1 minute then store them in the fridge, but the instructions on the back say nothing about using boiling water.

How do you prepare yours?

Also, I have some Van Den Eynde Carp pellets (fishmeal), which are hard, what is the best way to soften these up?

Cheers

Hello Paul,

the best way to prepare Ringers and any expander is to use an old "hair gel" tub, clean it out with boiling water, 3/4 fill it with pellets, fill it up with warm tap water, leave the top slightly loose and place in the fridge overnight, you could also add extra flavourings like Scopex, Fishmeal etc during this process and the amount should be just enough for a good days Baggin'.

As for the V.D.E pellets, the best way to hook these for use on waggler or pole is to home make some wire hair rigs on a standard length hooklengths and bait drill them, feed the wire through the hole and bend it over, don't need hair stops either!

Hope it helps
