Cat Fish in Winter

I have had some success with Cat fish this summer in the UK but there is very little reported on these fish during the winter. I know that most fishing becomes harder as the weather gets cold and temperatures fall,but am i waisting valuable fishing time targeting these fish in the colder months. Does any one have anything to report on this subject I would like to know your views.
