Specimen hunters Roy Gretton, Cork, and Nick Parry teamed up last week for a few days pike fishing on the RIVER BANN, Co. Derry. With ice sheets underfoot the pair accounted for over 30 double figure pike countless jacks and many dropped runs. Best fish fell to Roy at 25 lb 4 oz on a Rapala super shad rap whilst Nick had a best of 20 lb 8 oz on a zalt jerk bait. Other fish including 19lb 9oz, 19lb. 18lb 12oz etc were taken on a variety of dead baits. Each now have achieved their first specimens of the year.
