Specimen Carp Fishing Forum

I think one of this sites strengths is mixture and diversity. Single species anglers can sometimes lead to many problems in angling. Is there not enough sites out there catering for carp fishing? What then will we have a pike forum and one for barbel.

From a commercial point of veiw it could make sense, although I doubt it. It could attract new readers and more hits but would that increase revenue? It might also mean exsisting carp anglers leave the current forum in favour of a species specific one.

Alan.

As an angler who fishes for all species, and not very well rolleyes.gif

i would hate to see another forum just for Carp.

Carp seem to be the be all and all of fishing at the moment in the UK for new anglers.

many of them have never fished for other fish. OR fished a river for that matter. frown.gif

At least at the moment when they click on the course forum they get a chance to see topics about other fish, and maybe read them.

If you have a Carp only forum how many of them wont even bother looking at the other topics frown.gif

Keep it as it is Elton Pleasssssse rolleyes.gif

I have to say I am against the idea. I don't post a great deal but read a lot of the threads. The pool of knowledge on this forum is IMHO second to none. This diversity in experience and opinion has thrown up some great topics such as the floater fishing one and the current lure fishing one. I don't think you get the quality of information on the specialist forums that you get here. I think that to dilute it would be massive error of judgement. Please don't ruin what you have for the grass is not greener.

JUST MY OPINION FOLKS

Hi all, I'm in two minds about this one.

On one hand the current coarse forum has a mixture of styles, abilities and experiences which rub off on us all regardless of style, ablity and experience.

On the other hand I believe that there is room for another carp forum.

All carp forums have a slightly different bias whether North/South or what ever, also I know that there are a lot of carp anglers who just 'lurk' and who would register on a carp forum if there was one.

I also think that we could have a really good mixed and balanced carp forum judging by the coarse forum.

Lastly, just remember that the forums on this site are only a 'click' apart, nothing more! wink.gif

All the best,

Keep it as it is Elton,I love the way that topics can change from post to post. Seems to me that it is the variation of subjects that keep a lot of people coming back for more.

I admit to being a bit bored with carp fishing articles and posts, same old stuff rehashed and "everyone is a winner"

Sorry about that Elton, but I think you may lose a lot of viewers.

my personal opinion, keep it as it is, as already said, we all learn from each other's specialist approaches to the sport, and can share knowledge found out about other species.

Sorry all, I've just edited my post above by adding the word carp to say what I meant to mean! (if that makes sense?) wink.gif
