Dunk Fairley a Maidstone angler says he often takes his dog when walking the river

to fish.

He has a theory that whereas fish are wary

of the human footfall, the dog represents no threat. he attributes the presence of his dog to his improved catch rate.

I'd love to take my dog with me, but when I asked the question on here a while back, it appeared that most places wouldn't let you frown.gif

Mine comes with me on overnights on one particular water. A mate of mine was fishing there Friday before last and shared the solace and solitude with 500 people intent on having a rave. The people are mainly harmless but her growling generally keeps them away. Quite pleasant having her along especially now that she has learnt that casting a float isn't a game of catch !
