Im welling up (sniff :) )you have all been so helpfull I hope to put into practice some of the advice offered so far later this week,I will let you know if I catch anything :)

Rather than lure-fishing for perch at this time of year, dare I suggest a bit of Sink 'n' Draw with a small freshwater dead fish bait ... if you come-across a dead gudgeon, small roach or whatever (i.e. visit a venue after the Matchmen have dumped their hauls back in)
