This is interesting - as it does not at all match the discussions I've seen on here about the lack of enforcement of current regulations. If required to choose, I think I choose to believe what is posted here.

 

I wonder if they could cite "chapter and verse" on these prosecutions? Not sure about the UK but all cases in the US going to court are matters of public record and open to all - except those where the prosecution is of a minor child or some which involve a minor child as the offended party).

 

If asked to provide examples of the "numerous prosecutions of anglers for fishing in these lakes with livebait taken from other waters", I wonder if they could. And if "numerous" could possibly be a total of one or two over a multi-year period.

Absolutely Newt! It’s the same here and one of the questions I’ve asked of them. How many and over what time period?
