The way that these boards have grown is tremendous and a compliment to all of us who post here. We must all be doing something right for them to be so popular smile.gif

What I have noticed, though, is that some very good information gets passed on and then pushed back into the past, only to be asked again at a later date.

Now, due to a stroke of luck, this site is going to have a bit more attention paid to it over the coming weeks. It's going to have more information added (I have a backlog here!!) and a "freshen-up" design wise. The boards will stay the same, but I want everything else a bit more 'organised'.

One thing I would absolutely love to add is a section outlining all the different species of fish - their appearance, habits and the tackle/methods needed to catch them.

Thing is, I'm not a very good fisherman....

...but some of you, humble as you are, are pretty damned good.

If there are any volunteers who could provide the basic information outlined above for any specific fish, I'd love to hear from you. If you are an authorised representative of a specialist group and would like the information to be credited to your organisation, then even better. Anglers' Net would benefit from the information and the various organisations would benefit from a very healthy 'plug'. The National Mullet Club will tell you how effective this site is for recruitment smile.gif

So, who's up for it?

Tight lines,

Elton

Great idea, and I for one will read all thats written, and more than once. I have only been here for 3 weeks or so and cannot believe how friendly and informative the group is. I mean since I 'appeared' I have managed to join Wingham and meet Steve who really has re-kindle my desire to fish. If anyone wants info on Romney Marsh then I will always help. Lets hope the spirt of the group can grow and we all can feed of each other.

Elton,

You already know what my answer is.

Point is, when do you require the contribution?

Good man smile.gif

Any time is good.

Best to assume that the person reading it is a newcomer to the species, possibly even the sport.

Right, that's barbel sorted, now what about these slimy things I keep seeing mention of? wink.gif

I can probably sort out some pike stuff - if you are not in a rush!

What sort of format are you aiming for?

Excellent, Dave!! Many thanks.

As for format, I'm open to ideas, but I thought something along the lines of:

Name (including Latin Name)

Description (including important identifying features)

Preferred Habitat

Preferred Baits

Tackle Required

Record & Specimen Weights

Organisations For Further Information

What does everyone else reckon?

Oh, and of course, a couple of pics would help.
