I'm falling apart!

I've got a stinking cold, I've twisted my knee which is in a brace, my knuckles constantly ache and I've just ripped off my big toe nail!!...not happy

What can I do to cheer myself up?

P.S. I didn't bring up fishing, but I've blanked for 4 weeks now!!

Hi Gaffer,

sorry to hear you are suffering. For the cold try an old Irish cure that I picked up in my youth. Couple of shots of whiskey, couple of cloves 2 spoons of sugar, 2 t spoons of lemon juice. Long glass with a spoon in it and pour hot water over the mixture. Adjust the mix to suite your taste, ie more whiskey. 3 or 6+ times a day realy makes you sweat it out and sleep.

Result, no cold but could lead to one heck of a head ache.

Sorry to hear of your list of ailments but that's what happens when you get past 30, now you can feel sorry for us old buggers that have gone past fifty, just imagine the ailments we've had to put up with. Alans cure seems the best remedy.

up to a point I agree with you but you must bear in mind that Gaffer is maried so it looks better if you put a little hot water in to convince them it is medicinal Kidolagy.

Its Ok to do such terrible things to cooking whiskeys Bells and the like....

but to do it to a single malt is a hanging offence..

it's b***** typical, I have the weekend to myself, decide where I'm going fishing and now I've gone down with the flu & feel like ****

 

So all I want to do is curl up in front of the fire & do nothing!

Sorry to hear that Lyn, try the mixture. If you don"t like whiskey, use brandy.

The worst part is going to be better by Monday morning. yuk.

It's been over a week now and I still feel pants!!

I've nearly got over my cold, but now have Laryngitis!!
