Place a piece of high density foam (The stuff they insulate pipes with or line camera boxes with) under the reel seat to "thicken" it up.

Hi Elliot ..

 

2 ideas that might help ..

 

Coasters are made in differet sizes. Nip down to your tackle shop and see if they have the next size down.

 

Or..

 

An old trick is to wrap a length of rubber inner tube around you rod butt in the reel saet area .. thus making you rod butt slightly thicker.

Elliot,

 

The best solution I found was to get a Fuji screw fitting the correct diameter for your rod butt. Place a length of shrink tube on the butt. Place araldite onto the fitting and slide in place. Add some more shrink tube and butt this up against the fitting and use a hairdrier. Looks neat and tidy and holds the reel a treat.
