hi all, have been thinking of joining South cerny angling club this season, was wondering what the fishing was like on Ham pool and wickwater as these are the lakes that i have managed to get around. is the fishing easy or hard? any ideas on baits / rigs etc would be a big help

I did live in the village a few years back and was a member of South Cerney AC. I am not a carp man more of a tench nut in those days. What I can tell you is Wick Water was always prolific, with a number of good carp to 30lbs. Ham Pool was always 'rock hard' and suffered from bankside disturbance, not surprising really because the fully licensed club house is adjacent to the pool. Still a good club and a good social scene.
