hi mate, yes you should pre soak it for six hrs then boil it for 10-15 mins then leave it for a few days in the water that it was cooked in and it will start to therment. top and cheep stuff to use!!! Tight lines bloke!

hi all, have been thinking of joining South cerny angling club this season, was wondering what the fishing was like on Ham pool and wickwater as these are the lakes that i have managed to get around. is the fishing easy or hard? any ideas on baits / rigs etc would be a big help

yes i do mate, its not brill as i was on my own.

only got out twice so far this year, did a 24hr trip to whelford pools, and lost an upper teen at the net with a hook pull!!!!! and other trip was a 24hr session to blackland lakes had six fish all carp from 7lb to 22lb 12oz. was well chuffed with the 22lber!

hi mate try this, http://www.air-sealproducts.com/index.asp i work in the landscaping industry and we have added this into all our tyres from wheel barrows to tractors. and have had some good results. think i have seen it for sale in most agricultural shops like mole vally ect. think i have seen it in some large garden centres. if not most garden machinery shops should sale it.

have you tried shearwater or longleat, shearwater is the biggest at about 27 acres but you have to get through the small carp and bream. longleat has 3 lakes bottom lake has smaller carp more of a match lake, middle has carp to i think 20ish. top lake i was once told had carp to 38lb. but not sure if this is correct. all the lakes are about 25 miles from bath and night fishing is allowed on them (shearwater road side only) but give them a ring as they have changed the close season times. Nick Robbins 01985844496) take the A36 from bath to warminster. and you should start picking up the longleat signs. or if going to shearwater keep on the A36 and pick up the blanford road. turn right about 1 mile down sign posted shearwater. i live in trowbridge and these are about the biggest lakes around this area. if you need any larger waters or fish then you might have to travel further to south cerny or oxford. but if you do find anything let me know!.

hi all and merry christmas, went up town today to get the last few bits of xmas shopping (well when i say last few bits i mean all of it!) any way back to what i wanted to say. went past my local tackle shop and bought a few odds and ends, came out and went two shops down which is a fish mongers to get a few 1lb blocks of squid for my sea fishing. i came back out, and looked in to the window as i was sorting my wallet, when i got a shock of something that i thought would of never seen!!!!!.................................................there in the window on ice was a Mirror carp of about 2-3lb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thought that no one would believe me so took a photo. its not a good pic but you can make out that it is a carp!!! has anyone else seen anything like this before!

am thinking of giving longleat top lake a go any ideas on how its fishing?

no still had nothing, and am thinking that im not going to. wish i had remembered to put the camera in!! on my last trip got to the lake for a five day session and had relised that i had forgotten my kettle and saucepans! if i do get them will post them asap!

well i do have a digital camera, but i had left it at home with the freshly charged batterys in. so guess it could be my fault, but if the glove was on the other hand and i took someones photo i would of proberly of maild them to them stright away.

well all i can do is wait mate, am thinking of writing a pice for a few carp mags to see if i get any response, but think it might be a loss cause.

Well after catching my new pb the smile has gone! The only pic I have of my pb is below! As you can see not very good taken with my phone! Had other photos that were taken by three lads from Newport. I gave them my email address to send them on, but have not received them.
