Calamari squid available frozen in bulk from most tackle shops that carry sea fishing bait.

 

I use them whole but remove the head/legs and plastic like skeleton.

A good variation on a theme is to stuff them with mashed up (tinned) sardine/pilchard sew up the body and fished popped up.

 

Fairly pike proof but I have had them take them when retrieved and know mates who have had them picked up static on hungrey waters.

 

Reasonably carp proof though.(only ever had one on them)

i think if you look closely you can see the peice of squid on the unhooking mat .

 

i see it now now didi, looks like californian calamri if i spelt if right lol. thats good, i can get loads of that, for pennies.
