decided to try deal pier on sunday caught plenty of small pout which i used as bait but no good it was a bit windy too! as far as i could tell being there from half two t half nine only two doggies were caught apart from pout all day. plenty of talk about a nice bass off the beach last week though??? anyway i always feel that even though i havent caught its a day well spent. one local guy said he usually fishes at sandown castle which he reckons is as good as the pier (not saying much). anyway bait used; some nice big rag, dungie lug, whole squid. perhaps another week or two things will improve and ill get a lunker!!

Theres Something comforting about a tilly (or Coleman dual which I use) hissing away on the beach, especially if your on your own. Although I only really use it when access is good though..
