Just thought I'd introduce myself as I've just joined up to forum

Used to fish quite a bit when I was younger on commercials but gave up for quite a few years.....just got back into it again and am so glad I did.

Started again around a couple of years ago fishing pretty much anything from rivers for chub & roach to commercials for the carp and had a fair amount of success as I think my patience had improved since I was younger! For the last 8 months or so though I have ditched the multiple rods & bivvy and specialised 100% in Pike fishing which I really love. So far I've had 5 doubles up to 17lb and numerous fish from river and stillwater.

Next goal for myself is breaking the 20lb mark but catching pike of any size is always great so as long as my rods bending I'm happy.

Be good to hear from Pikers down south in the Bristol/Bath areas wtih tips for good venues locally.

Neil

Hi Neil!

Welcome, glad to hear you're back in the game. I try to do a fair bit of piking but this year I've been out only once (and that was actually supposed to be a zander session!) because of the weird weather. I'm in Oxford so not too far away, but I can't help with venues down your way I'm afraid.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

Cheers for the replies

Glad to hear there are some Pike enthusiasts on here.....as always, I'm always looking for advice on methods and new rigs to try out so I'm sure I'll learn a bit on here.

Has anyone fished Cheddar reservoir for pike?....Like to do Chew valley but getting on there is pretty difficult as times are restricted so I thought Cheddar may be worth a shot. I also hear that it's a trout fishery which usually means fat pike!
