Float Rod Help

Paulos

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone know of a 12ft float rod that comes in 2 pieces, with a full cork handle. Preferably needs to be able to handle light hooklengths. I've been searching on the net but can't find anything similar. Thanks.

Depends how much you want to spend, but I'd recommend this one - I've landed "accidental" carp to 7lb on it, and it's a great rod for light float fishing for most species. Balances perfectly with a 2500 size reel.

MAP CFS 12ft 2pc Medium Power Float

12ft/3.65m/15 guides/2 sections

Recommended reel lines 2-4lb

Recommended hooklengths 1 1/2 - 3lb

(RRP £59.99)

Our Price: £49.00

Wish it had a full cork handle though.......

It's full cork apart from about 3" of Duplon at the top, which forms the screw-down reel seat (the photo on the link doesn't do it justice). :)

On the basis of your budget I'd go for the Korum Neoteric....I have used one of these for a few months and for light float work is a brilliant piece of kit. I'm always a little reluctant to recommend kit but this is a lovely rod.

By the way don't forget your local tackle shop! The link I gave was for the description.

Cheers.
