6500 C3 CT ELITE

I have just recently got a 6500 C3 CT ELITE (centrafugal brakes)and it came with 8 brake blocks!, after a casting session with it I opened it up and found it was as if the brake blocks on the spindal had worn out, is this normal?

I'm not an Abu owner but I've always heard and read that Abu reels are supplied without any blocks fitted, so I'd say your looking at bare spindles not worn out blocks. You'll have to fit some of the blocks provided, how many depends upon your ability and needs. Others will advise you on that.

Recently bought an ABU 6500 as well, but got it from the local shop as was new to multipliers, and wanted a new rod as well.

 

They set it up and explained it to me, so have had no problems, which is the advantage.

 

On the downside, dont know much about the internals and playing about with it.

 

If you have bought yours locally I would suggest doing the same.
