HI GUYS. NEW TO THE FORUM.

I'M AFTER ANY ADVISE FISHING THIS AREA. EVERY TIME I WANNA BRING THE BOAT DOWN THE WEATHER DONT ALLOW ME.

I GOT FAMILY IN THE ST MERRYN AREA AND THINKING OF COMING DOWN THE WEEKEND WITH THE SHORE TACKLE.

LOOKING AT THE TREVOSE HEAD AREA. ANY SUGGESTION'S OF WHERE TO FISH. AND BAIT WOULD BE MOST WELCOME

wrasse mackerel, pollock, odd bass and roomers of tope and porbeagles. feathers for the macks, crab and worm baits for the wrasse, lure fishing can work well.

THANKS FOR THAT THEDOG. JUST WATCHED A HOME MADE MOVIE WITH A DUDE CALLED ROCKHOPPER. FISHING FROM AROUND THE LIGHTHOUSE SOMEWHERE, BIT OF A STRANGE REDNECK.(BUT HE KNEW HIS STUFF) FUNNY BLOKE.HE WAS CATCHING TURBOT. ARE THEY STILL ABOUT. DO YOU KNOW HOW BIG THE WRASSE GO UP TO. YOU DONT NEED TO TELL ME ABOUT THE SWELL, I COULD SEE FROM THE MOVIE I WILL NEED TO BE CARFULL. TIGHT LINES.

i've been out on the head with the water 30ft below me and got soaked when a couple of big waves came and hit the base of the rocks. we watched them coming in from about 1/2 mile out, didn't realise how big they were until it was too late. tis very good for wrasse here up to 5lbs, just where you walk down the'path' at the side of the fence, near the lighthouse. don't fish here with an onshore wind with a big tide, you will get wet or even worse. fish around the corner in the bay(mother ivys) sheltered from the wind and a tidy bass mark.

thanks gareth, there is a nice slot in the weather tomorrow. so i will be chucking the boat out from minehead.

fished there 2 weeks ago on ally kat with 1 tope of 30lb and a huss of 12lb. gonna do a 12 hour stint. for a range of species.

with any luck the hounds are still about. gonna have a bash for them for a hour, then whip out for the tope.

gonna be a laugh tryin to get 1 on my boat. anway thanks for the advise.
