Macky could probably tell you better than me. I here if you cast short into the surfover sand you stand a good chance, I also here areas where scaur meets sand can be productive. I think they like white water.

In the surf using 2 or 3 hook flappers you will find most of the bass will take the top hook, Which suggest they like a bait suspended of the bottom slightly moving in the current, So maye try making a rig with the top hook and maybe more suspended slightyly of the bottom which flap in the tide, For the surf the bass that ive seen caught have been mainly on rag and on peelers,

 

I think its deffo best when theres a fairly big surf running(on a big tide) Ive never seen any on flat days from a surf beach
