  1. My local tackle shop has had a 'New Plug' on its counter for a few months now, it has a small flashing led light and is supposed to also an ultrasonic sound system (drum n bass ) Anyway, if its ultrasonic, were humans aint ever gonna hear it, so how do you prove to a sceptic such as myself it works, secondly, bass are very suspicious creatures, so i doubt they'll grab anything with flashing headlamps finallly, new innovations tend to cost big $$$'s, so as someone said earlier, I think these gadgets are designed to catch anglers n not fish however, I/we may well yet be proved wrong (glup rubber baits seem to be doing the business and everyone sneered at that idea)
  2. I live on the South West coast of England, (Torbay) I can understand your average commercial chap taking offense to the presence of a seal (one guy was taken to court for shooting a seal in the bay) We dont get many of them, I have only ever seen one at a time near to the Torquay harbour. But its amazing how stupidly many anglers react to a single seal doing its thing, you'd think the seal had the plague or something... As someone said earlier, they have more right to any fish than we do, they have to work hard for their food and survival, we fish for a hobby. You ought to congratulate any seal for figuring out the easy meal option, why should it it expend energy hunting when there are freebies to be had. As for shooting them, do we want to get like the europeans who shoot anything n everything with a pulse (especially birds) just because we can or it MIGHT present a bit of competiton, and end up with lifeless enviroments. Yes, sure, scare them away from your gear (harmlessly) its for there own safety as much as anything, but we really ought to look on it as a good thing that they are around, they do have a purpose in nature (as does everything) and just learn to accept them. If your gonna have to shoot something, shoot the idiots on jetski's
  3. Not sure i see the relevance, but im not with AOL, I use BT, but dont use their connection software, or any of there hardware either, my own ADSL router (with in built firewall) n using XP Pro (for my stupidity, XP Home is much smoother running in my experience)
  4. I use ZA Pro, never had a problem, never had issues with uninstalling n reboot etc etc.... maybe things left in the registry that prevented windows restarting etc.... I have been told that a firewall is unnecessary for general web use, but also been told by others its an absolute must, so I err on the side of caution
  5. I adore cats cats myself, especially when treated how the Scotts treat a Mars Bar DEEP FRIED with a side portion of chip n peas If the people who owned cats, found piles of dog tur* all over their garden, and the bin bags ripped to shreds, they'd be the first to complain, but when it comes to their precious mogs (or my favourite meal) they thinks its ok. As for feedind fish to a mog, I have no problem, as long as either a: a fair balance is attained and the number of fish fed to cats = the number of cats fed to fish or b: the little sods choke on a bone
  6. Im inclined to aagree, the head is the wrong shape for a ballan (as is overall body shape) but could be a corky too..... but either way, its too small
