  1. IS this a good buy this here im looking for a reel for medium carping and maybe light catfishing. but im torn between a couple of options this was my first choice before i started looking around?
  2. Well as for inline rods, Diawa do a inline rod called intercore, also a veriation of the sensor. i dont think they still make them. DAM also did some, they still do 2 boat versions in a 25lb and 30lb class and they also do a 13 fot 6-8oz beachcaster (3pc) as well but the only one you would be able to buy is one with german writting on unless you want to pay me some serious cash for the one with english writting on! the boat rods are good because of the fact it has no eyes you get a natural curve from the tip to the butt, with eyes on you get the stiff parts where the eyes are whipped on. the beach caster you can get problems with weed in the tip section, but as the inner bit is on the second section the line flow easiley through this but you cant use a shock leader or it will jam. Threading it is a pain in the butt. but having said that it is a good rod i can feel if im on sand gravel rocks everything. Every turn of the fish's head you will feel. i use braid with my one and i have owned this rod for about 8 years now and dont regret it at all. The one i brought was made up for the english tackle shows and i got it from the DAM rep. worth the £200 i spent on it if only they give you more threaders tho
  3. yes chesters the bouy oppersite the bend in the first apron it always produces sole usually on a midnight ish tide on rag, and then i put a second rod down about 20 yard of whole squid for the bass
  4. after building many many pcs and running servers etc i have found avast to be better than avg and its also free as well for firewall with avast you dont need one as it has one installed with it or if you want you can download zone alarm again free. nortons is the worse anti virus software out there, it uses so much resources its unreal
  5. Well getting back to the warren, copt point is showing a few fish nothing massive but there is some nice doggies coming up. for the first apron walk towards dover untill your inline with the lifebouy (if no one has knicked it) and cast 120 yd out theres lots of sole there. As for mini bikes the police here have recently clamped down and confiscated around 8 of them so they are quiet at the moment, im not to sure how the high winds will of affected the fishing but i will take a walk down there over the weekend and find out for you chesters1
  6. So what you are saying then is, if i was to use dried sweetcorn as a bait, put a kilo in and a hungry carp came along and eat say 20 or 30 peices in the first 5 minutes of the bait going in the water that the bit of corn would not continue absorbing moisture, and swell. and if it was to swell it would just pass the food out instantly? If thats the case why is it when humans eat rice they get full up really quickly as the rice swells in the gut, But instead of us passing it through we have to suffer the discomfort of a swollen stomach.
  7. as some one said boil untill the seeds split and white shoots appear, keep the water when finished as you can use this for mixing the ground bait, in response to someone asking for evidence of the seeds swelling http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/authors/leigh01.htm http://www.go-fish.co.uk/previoustips_4191.htm http://www.carp-uk.net/articles/particlebaits.htm So their is evidence out there just got to search for it,
  8. the hemp sold in angling shops is pre prepared however you can buy it from other places as well where it wont be prepared, the problem will be if people are throwing in hemp thats not prepared the fish eat then in the water the hemp expands as it takes on water and like many seed baits it is known to split the stomach on some fish
  9. alot of places also ban hemp to stop people using stuff that ie either under prepared or unprepared altogether
  10. forgot to mention i didnt go to the match lake or the predator lake as its a long old walk. the canal stretch is good down at the dead tree end fish tight to the other bank and desperation lake you cant go wrong on they will throw themselves at bare hooks
  11. i have just come back from there, well in june anyway i found the main lake is best along the back stretch, try scopex boilies popped up about a inch. and cast to the far bang, also on the main lake if you walk down to dead tree lake theres a basin there all covered by trees try abit of luncheon meat on the float we took some crackers out from there. try using some big pellets ie 14 or 22mm jobs. On the speci lake when i was there it was very weedy so i was free lining a boilie into the clear patches there is some monsters in there the catfish goto about 30lb and the carp to about the same. Only thing is you have to walk up there you are not allowed to take the car. listen to the lads in the onsite tackle shop they will tell you all you need to know (oh the food place is decent as well) if its been wet its very muddy but you will enjoy it we did. I had 7 days on there and didnt stay in our van once.
