  1. All i know is its in Frant, Sussex about 5 minutes away from Frant Lakes, its about a 2 hour drive from me so its not practical for me to travel out there without fishing, hence the reason why i would like to telephone them prior to going there.
  2. Is that the one on like a industrial estate in a warehouse, if you go up stairs you have to clamber over everything and nothing has prices on up stairs?
  3. The alarms are very good, batteries last for ages in them (uses the square 9v) as someone else mentioned you can use illuminated bobbins on them as well. One of the downsides is the back battery cover tends to feel abit loose but saying that i have never had one drop off on me. I know you can buy a set of 3 including the metal box for about £60-£80 brand new.
  4. Im thinking of going here in march, but i can not seem to find a telephone number or any information on it such as prices. All i can find on the net is where people are slating Dave lane and the fishery because its small and the fish are not English. Anyone have any contact details or information for them. There is a telephone number listed on some sites 01732 360690 but this is Medway tackle and they have no idea why their telephone number is shown.
  5. thanks chesters, Know of any other places along the canal that i can night fish without hassle?
  6. I have heard that there is a section of hythe canal, botolphs bridge or something i think it was called. This bit is not club controlled and therefore your allowed to night fish it etc. Does anyone know where exactly this bit is? Or indeed any part of the canal that is not club controlled, but i still stand a decent chance of getting into some pike?
  7. just seen a adsense advert to the left saying you can get them from £74.00 incl delivery at www.mobilitymegastore.co.uk
  8. my parents live on the broads and its legal to drink whilst in charge of a boat on there as to many hire craft was running aground or crashing due to the pilots being drunk. I welcome it. I think there should a license of some discrption as well. I think its just about the only motorised thing you dont need a license for, yet its one of the most complex things to control, taking in mind tides wind direction speed other object, traffic no brakes, less responsive
  9. to be fair to demon/thus until the begining of the month never had a problem with them, then when that happend it was abit much all i wanted was some answers, i dont expect to get pushed from pillar to post all the time, espically when there is 1001 other companies out there more than willing to take my money and to be honest demon are not the cheapest out there, i would put them in the higher price bracket,
  10. i was with demon up untill the begning of this month when i had to phone them for support. Now i had a 8mb connection and connecting at 1.3mb which was my reason as to phoning them, i phoned their support number for broadband only to be told i got the wrong department they gave me another telephone number which i dialed and got the wrong department again this happend 7 times in the end they gave me a premium rate phone number to dial. Forget that i dont dial premium numbers. I asked them for my MAC code which i got emailed a couple of minutes later. i phoned up sky as i get tV through them anyway they supply my broadband now for £5 a month ontop of my tv package, i was paying demon £19.99 a month, Now just to touch on Matts post about the 8000max line, that is true they all rent the line from BT but this is changing as adsl2 becomes un bundled this is happening all over the country now. The connection speeds you get will very mostly on the line quality the distance from the exchange but also with the contention ratio, this is how many people can connect to the same broadband pipe at the exchange up to 50:1 is acceptable but over that you are asking for trouble, Just ask Talk Talk when they made a mockery. The speeds will also depend on the company, like i said i use to connect at 1.3mb with demon now im with sky same 8mb connection but im connecting at 5.7mb big difference and also come next month i get adsl2 which means i will be able to get up 16mb i expect a connection speed of around 11mb which is not to bad. the ADSL2 package from sky costs £10 on top of you sky subscription
  11. Im off to a place called charlie rolfs tomorrow in Ashford, Kent I got a couple of problems, first off i have no idea how to get there (coming from M20) dont know whats in there or whats the best baits tactics etc or how much it is can anyone help please
  12. horses for courses, go to a good tackle shop have a lay in a few see what feels right, then shop around for prices, im 6ft2 and i had real problems in the end i settled for the new JRC X-Lite 3 legged version, and im well impressed.
  13. i have just come back from revels. i will tell you what i know the main lake has just been reshaped no longer has the "canal" section along the back bank, holds lots of small silvers some carp up to 20's. Desperation lake is alot smaller again full of silvers more suited to pole fishing. Dead tree lake is a dog leg shaped lake the fish feed on the far bank under the trees. pellets work well on there. The match lake is a short work up a huge steep hill, next to that is the predator lake, that lake is amazing pike to low 30's Specimen lake is £45 per 24 hours if your not staying at the site, £20 if you are. You must pre-book as it gets very busy. for your money you get the entire lake for up to 4 people. The lake is small with a silly island (covered in leads) and a few lilly beds. This lake contains cats to 40lb and carp to 30's big pellet for the carp and whole squid for the cats, for the cats fish tight to the lillies and hold tight. If you stay on site you can fish the stock pond, dont be fooled by this lake recently doubled in size this lake contains carp to 20lb cats confirmed to 14 but could well be bigger in there, jason (the owner) and Dean (head bailiff type person) dont actually know whats in there exactly. Pellet and squid again work here, becarefull around the sunken tree snaggy as hell. Poles are health hazard due to the over head power lines running down the side of this lake They are getting buried in Novemeber! if i can help any more let me know
  14. And Ken i will talk about what i know about, Again you seem very quick and making very wrong pre judgments on people. Only very few people on here know me, know about my family etc. one thing i do know, in the few months i have been re-registered on this site there seems to be a new thing where you cant try and have a intelligent argument with some people without being called ignorant, thick, un-educated. which is a rather bad thing.
  15. I live near a town now, but i havent done all my life. I used to live in rural places. Infact my parent still do, So before you start trying predict what type of person i am or what sort of ideas i have i strongly suggest you get your facts right. What i have been saying all along is that for the government to bring this type of thing in then, they would have to look at many factors. The public transport infrastructre, the viabilty of the scheme, how they could make it fair. what exemptions would be in place. what would they do with the extra revenue, where will they be able to cut taxes for the average joe. And Cory, if you got relatives in the country who work in agriculture it proberbly wouldnt make i bot of difference for them. The money they save in red desiel would more than compensate for the little a tractor is on the road. And am i so wrong to be thinking of our kids futures and grand kids futures whilst everyone else goes around poisening them?
  16. im also with Demon, yes they are very very good, had to use the customer service once and i got straight through and solved the issue in minutes. I also rent my servers through them as well. but they too are expanding into other fields as well now.
  17. if you have sky broadband in your area then i would say go for that, their customer service even though not brilliant is better than orange, they are also generous on their caps. plus you dont have to take a 18 month contract for a mobile to get it. thats just MHO but im bound to get shot down in flames for recommending somthing other than BT, but what do i know, only worked in IT and Ecommerce for 10 years
  18. Bt control the line for now. But they are in the middle of unbundling them, meaning the broadband supplier will control the line that your internet service is delivered on. Bt may be good for a business user but for home users it really is worth shopping around. Bt customer service leaves a lot to be desired. BT do not control the speed and quality of the connection, theres more factors than that. Ie distance from exchange, the further it is the more noise you get and weaker signal. the contention ratio alot of suppliers this is 50:1 however some other suppliers this can be as high as 250:1
  19. still a hellhole. infact its got alot worse. still get the odd drunk nutter doing the lemming over the cliff in the summer. lol dont park by the campsite down there, they lock the gate now.
  20. like i said earlier, im agreeing to disagree. we all have our opinnons on this. Only time will tell whos right whos wrong if anyone. and as i said in my very first post, its a petition i wont be signing.
  21. not once have i said STOP emissions i have said reduce emissions. tell you what how about in 30 years time every one drives a chelsea taxi, to many cars for car parks, not enough fields to turn into carparks, food has to be imported because we got no fields to grown our own, the price hike because of imports, no where for your grandkids to play except on the road with the chelsea taxis oh that is if of course they can play and not got severe asthma due to emissions from cars, airlines, and everything else as there will be no trees to help clean the air.
  22. a bus will carry more people per kg of CO2, a train on the other hand, Eurostar recently commissoned a scientfic investigation into the co2 emission it churns out on a london to paris route, and the outcome was even with all the electric that needs to be generated for it to run, it is about the same as a mini, a mini carrirs 5 people at a push, a eurostar 766, no comparison really. the emissions from a volcano are beyond our control so throw what you want in there. i just think that its time people was responsible for the future of our kids, grand kids and all the rest and anything that might take some pollutants out of the air has got to be a good thing, as a race we all have been burying our heads in the sand for far to long No i dont live in a major town, i live in capel. chesters knows it only to well.
