  1. OK Mr Chairman, I'm with Ken on the Agenda - if we don't, it will quickly become muddled up If you want to use the agenda method, should we invite agenda items from the forum members Also, how should we play this game, do we for example give each agenda item a week to debate and then close it before moving onto next item ?
  2. Strong winds and gale warning forecast for south and east regions tonight, mean speeds till midnight 20 knots gusting 35. Worsening after midnight to mean speeds of 30-35 knots, gusting 55. Be careful out there, should be good fishing after.............
  3. Don't worry mate, I am not familiar either , will try your advice
  4. Hi Chris, yes have tried this they keep flipping over
  5. Not particularly specific is it ? I might agree with some of the areas but the reality is I am petitioning for all because I don't know which ones. I'd be more inclined to complete a petition that restricted Commercial Fishing to UK registered boats albeit with quotas. I am an RSA, but these guys have to eat too.
  6. So let me get this right, this petition is for a TOTAL ban on ALL commercial fishing for 10 years.......
  7. HBAA Bass Open is Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th August
  8. My wife has bought me this reel for Xmas - I'll tell her later Anyway, it has the extra magnets to fit which I have done so according to the diagram, however when I release the second new magnet it get attracted and sticks to the other additional magnet - this is different to how it shows it on the diagram. Has anyone else fitted these and does it look as per the picture or am I doing something wrong ?
  9. Thanks for all of your support, we managed to raise £100 for Martyn Franklins family yesterday . Nothing spectacular to speak of on the fish front , a few whiting that didn't indicate their presence on the rod tip and a slackline bite that revealed a 1.5lb codling which was released to grow a bit bigger. Steve C was dying to post up some pictures of his whiting, but in danger of swamping this board with fishy pic's of a lesser quality we have decided to refrain
  10. Sam is talking of going across the water to enter - Sharkbyte might have a nibble too as might Steve C, up for crewing. Ill get in touch with someone down there to find out costs
  11. Don't have the details Mat but our club was looking favourably at this venue, good car parking and reasonable fees - you fancy a crack at the Bass Festival ? http://www.hbaa.co.uk/
  12. To meet a few more of you, to get another double bass and to learn how to fly cast for the same. Most of all to find a top mark for Bass which is unspoilt, undiscovered and untrawlable - there, not much to ask is it ?

  15. They'll have to give the kit back now, I did read in Sea Dangler that it was weighed on the pier and then returned. Crikey, this post will end up on the politics and conservation page now
  16. There you go then, with catches as good as they are, it'll be free for years.

  22. Guy's The fish in I am co-ordinating is for the 21st November 2006 at Felixstowe. The venue will be The Butts, between 09:00 and 15:00 high tide is at 11:41 Either let me know or just turn up, if there's only two of us - so be it, but would appreciate the opportunity to meet more of you So who's coming.............................
  23. Gents, in trying to raise some monies for Martyn's family we have spoken about staging some fish ins. The difficulty in arranging one for all to attend would delay this process and I think we need to do this sooner rather than later. Therefore I am proposing a series of fish ins, with those interested in organising, to work out the best one for your area and posting up for all to see. No rules, no prizes just a simple get together. We do need someone to take responsibility for collecting any monies to give to Martyn's family, so who will do this gents. I will set up a midweek session during the day to cater for some of the shift workers in my area - collect the money from those wishing to join me, and forward it to the person who will present it to Martyn's family. I will post up what we raised too. So gents, please have a think about this, if you can set up something in your area, please post it up If you already have meets scheduled, could you for example pass the hat around - as I am sure that every penny will be appreciated. Elton - please could you pin this topic to the top of the page Steve
  24. OK guys, who knew Martyn and his family well, we need someone to send our monies to. Looking at the posts, a few of us want to take part in fish ins, but it will always be difficult to get a date to suit all. I am proposing to start a new thread so we can organise some. The idea is simple, I'll set up a weekday date for my area to take place within next two weeks, those that can join me are very welcome. I'll collect monies from those who attend, summarise the contribution so that all can see online and forward it to the person that knew Martyn and his family. If others in other areas could do the same, it doesn't have to be a formal meet either, if you are already fishing with a bunch of fellow anglers, attending club fixtures or meetings and can find the time to pass a hat round, I am sure every penny we can raise will be appreciated.
