  1. Actually, that night a couple of weeks ago I was in a bit of a rush to get them slaughtered. However, I managed it in under 5 hours. Death by freezer. Spread them out flat in a plastic, sealed bag, 7 pm. After two hours I took them out, chilled, and spread them out on four dinner plates (2 pints) and left them exposed in the freezer. Bingo. Frozen / dead by midnight.
  2. Andy,Tried the electric chair with them but the meter is spinning around, out of control. The bill will rocket. I`ll try and hang a few, much cheaper.

  4. How long does it take, approx, to freeze them to death? When is the best time to flavour them, before or after freezing?

  6. Anyone own one, been in one, seen one. I`ve been on their website and checked them out thoroughly, but would like to hear from the shop floor about them. Pretty pricey but you do away with trailers and storage is a doddle. They pack down to 4 inches by however long the boat you`ve got.

  13. Yes Waterman, the purpose would be to get from A to B, the inaccessible spot, with gear. Not for trolling or anything like that.

  17. Would any of you boat users recommend the traditional boat shape or the punt type, called a Jon. I suppose each to their own. Anyone tried both types? It would be for bream, tench and pike fishing. I like the idea of mooring up across a lake in unfished territory. Kinda have the edge on the geezers on the shore.

  19. Does anyone do it, moored up to wooden stakes or doubled anchor. I`m thinking of buying a Sylvan (American) 14 foot punt, aluminium tinnie. They`re incredibly light, finished in a drab green, need no maintenance and open up a whole new horizon. "Faraway Fields Are Greener" etc. Surely it`s a cracking method on biggish reed fringed lakes. Have to do it! Any advice from you pros. I`d be tooled up with a Depth Finder etc. Carpet the floor is one I`ve heard, especially in a Tinnie. 21. Went out for an overnighter last night. Got to the lake, about 30 acres, at 8.30pm, in the rain, and just enough time to get sorted. Try doing up a few PVA`s bags in the rain, even under the brolly! Constant rain, the odd bleep. At 11pm had a look see at the rods only to see no platform/walkway left!!! Just a sheet of silvery water. The walkway was about 30 feet long to a double platform. Disappeared. You`re on your own. On with light and down the walkway, which is about a foot under water at this stage, to top of boots. Rising steadily by the minute. Had to, gingerly old boy, retrieve rods, L.net had floated off a bit, lucky to get it. Swingers were submerged. I don`t mind tackling down, but not at 11pm in a storm, on yer todd. Have you experienced rapid rises of water like this? What would have happened if I`d dozed off? Do bedchairs with anglers float off to the middle of the lake?
  22. Saw a guy with the fixed lenght one last week. He wasn`t too impressed. The adjustable, up to 13` rods one, would be a better buy. The first one is "really winchy".
