  1. Just to ley you all know I have just added lots of new pictures onto the site, shame about the constant rain ruining the pics!
  2. Hi all, Just though I would let you know that I have just taken on a new fishery in the Midlands, Near Nuneaton. It is hoar park fishery and consists of 2 pools totaling around 2 acres. They have plenty of Carp to just under 20lb, Tench, Roach,Rudd and even Gudgeon! I am doing kids under 15 free with an accompanied paying adult all over easter so if you are local and fancy it! You can check out my new website for up to date reports at: www.hoarparkfishery.co.uk Cheers all!
  3. Yes I live neer them, they are 2 very deep pits and i mean deep! The biggest of the 2 is around 10 acres and has fish to the upper 20's but is rock hard, very weedy, deep and not many fish. The other lake is around 3 acres and deep and very very weedy! I know I used to be a season ticket holder, the small lake is worth a go for Tench though, some clonkers. I would go over the river to catch 22 personally, 250 yards tops. Or try cobbleacre lakes 5 miles away ..... quality carp fishing! Seriousley it is. See the site at www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk
  4. Hi all, I have got Bob Nudd coming down on the 15 March to open our new 50 peg match lake. I was thinking of having some sort of angling match for charity as part of the opening but i need some inspiration! Any ideas on what sort of thing would go down well? I have a few ideas, fancy dress etc but i really want to do something different, see details on the lake at http://www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk many thanks
  5. Without a doubt, it is a scandal that between 5 chanels they cant spare half an hour a week on a good quality angling programme. I think a Tight lines type programme would get an amazing response. Afterall we are involved in a britains largest participating sport. Absoloutley no screeming reels! I would prefer to go without! I have sky but I am sick to death of the same old repeats and a new show would be a breath of fresh air, even if the missus didnt think so!
  6. I highly reccomend cobbleacre lakes in Norfolk, but then I would! See http://www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk for all the info you need, happy hols!
  7. I am urgentley after a static caravan whilst my place is being built. It would need to have at least 2 bedrooms and be insulated for winter use. Delivery is not a problem as i can arrange transport. It would need to be in at least half decent condition as my kids will be staying there with me and her indoors. Help!

  9. I agree totaly, a******s like this are the ones that give us carpers a bad name. I have had the grief in the past but at my fishery I will first advise on what they are doing wrong and then if i get any abuse and/or they ignore my advice it's bye bye I will ask them to leave immediatley and they will not be welcome back.www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk
  10. I smashed an hole through inch thick ice in one of my lakes yesterday and had a great day with Rudd,Ide and Perch ( I had a clonker of 2lb) I fished really light (For me anyway I am a carp angler!)I used a size 18 hook, 3lb line, 2bb stick float and single maggot, I had a great time.
  11. I agree, I make up rigs using a range of top quality hooklinks, hooks and swivels and sell them in my on-site tackle shop for a £1-00 each and still end up in profit! And they sell very well (and work!)www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk

    Ide

I run a complex in Norfolk cobbleacre lakes, http://www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk. 4 of the 6 lakes are stocked heavily with Ide, they are a fantastic fish, full of fight and will feed in all temperatures. You generally catch them about a foot or two from the surface. Come and check us out for Ide action!
  13. Hi all, I was wondering if any of you could tell me what the official ruling is on distances between pegs in match fishing. I am talking official match comitee rullings. I need to peg out our new match lake. Cheers Jacko
  14. Without a shadow of a doubt the JRC defender Bedchair, OK it is cheap but i am only a small guy and I had 3 different ones collapse on me first time I used them!
  15. try http://www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk or www.norfolkangling.co.uk both have a huge range of accomodation and angling in Norfolk
  16. Hi All, I am wondering if or were I can get hold of any world records associated with course fishing. I am not talking about fish sizes etc more The longest ever session without sleep, that sort of thing. There are a few of us at the complex I run that fancy having a crack at a world record to raise money for charity. We have been in touch with the guiness book of records but they charge you for asking would you believe! The free one takes weeks just to get a list of records. If anyone has any experience or could offer advice please let me know. Many thanks, Jacko

  20. You are welcome to the remains! I will have to recover the storm poles from the lake first though! I run cobbleacre lakes in norfolk and since sunday I have chain sawed 23 trees up just to be able to drag them to safety with the tractor! I was walking round chatting to the remainder of the lads who decided to brave it and there was trees coming down all around me ... scary as hell. Incidentally the bivvy that survived was a ..... ready for it! Chub Discovery! I have also been told that Armadillo bivvys completeley folded in the weekends storms, loads of complaints at the factory, I dont know how true it is. I have invested in the Fox Evolution now. Cheers Jacko
  21. Sleeping bag,Hotwater bottles fit niceley in my rucksack. The sleeping back fits in it's own bag nice and small (British army bag norwegian) from my RAF days. The duvet I keep in a dustbin bag that fits onto my trolley easily. So no probs with amounts to carry. The bottles I fill up with my kettle, 2 small kettle fulls boiled up half an hour before i turn in sorts them out niceley. Although most of my fishing is done at the fishery were I am manager http://www.cobbleacrelakes.co.uk , so my tackle is kept in the cabin 50 yards from the lake! There is a normal electric kettle as well which is a bonus. tightlines jacko
  22. What an absoloute living nightmare! I have just done a couple of nights on the lake, great until this morning and then, well you know what the wind speed got up to! To cut a long story short my bivvy (Titan) is now in about 30 pieces, ripped and basically totally destroyed. I have never known wind like it was this morning.Of the 5 of us who were fishing four are in the market for a new bivvy.Anybody reccomend a new one, wind proof! Oh and by the way we all blanked! Yours bloody annoyed, jacko
  23. I spend ridiculous amounts of time bivvied up in freezing conditions, but with pre planning there is no need to get cold. I wear plenty of layers of clothes, I also sleep under a duvet as well as in my sleeping bag. And i wouldnt be without my 2 hot water bottles! They are superb, i put one in the sleeping bag and one on top under the duvet. And lastly and most importantly a very very hot Vindaloo! Seriousley! they really keep you warm. Although the bivvy is rotten in the morning!
  24. I am after everything to start making my own boilies, rolling tables, flavourings etc. I need pretty much everything to start making them.
