We were expecting it to be called off due to wind's but George said we were off. 7 of us in our party all looking forward to catching the "BIG 1". We left Whitby early due to tide being a little high. 18 hour steam to the fishing ground 7 of us 7 over the side i have not been sea sick for 30 year's but i joined the other 6 laying ground bait. Great start to the day with a 15lb ling, Then a couple of cod 6lb's, and a 5lber, Few coallies. Then naff all. Me and Steve Hall fished at the back where Charlie used to pick all the big 1s up but got nowt. Ray the toast managed to fair a bit better with about 12 fish. Pancake face Paul spent most of his time in his bunk again due to not being able to fish and hold his bucket at the same time. Then come's up a nd pull's a cod 12lb on his first drop!!. Ginger Jerollod stuck at it all day with his side kick whispering Rob constantly ground baiting but catching a few. But at the front the action was on i think it was the cast from cocoon, The old buggers were pulling em in. Bill the butcher kept coming and having a look at our megre catch and saying how sorry he was for us. Eddie the deck hand i think you need to get challenge to give you some lessons in filleting me wife thought you kept the bones and threw fillet over the side lol. MartinG

Hi john, No Paul's shoe's have still got plenty of mile's left in em yet there only 27yrs old. Not been out of Whitby this year, But i'm on the Chieftain on wed 30th on a 46hr. I was out of Hartlepool last sun not much about few small codling and coalies. How's the new job at Boot's?? don't suppose it's good to be on land all the time. regard's.
