  1. Ah yes brian you noticed it something you dont often see these days it was all the same party but there was a couple of the old school with them with a couple of broom handles and scarborough reels with the tackle we use these days just looking at the old equipment seems quite strange. so whats strange? scarborough reels will always beat the the mutiplier hands down cause people dont use them is cause there been told wrong, any 1 got a clue on here? scarbys are 1.1 so what there can lever any big cod and ling up were ya get ya multiplier its crap dont do buisness boat wise never will, but there again you so called skips knows it all its up to person so ya laugh at people using a scarboro reel, theres your answer people think it cheap like the old days but it aint, but why shoulkd people follow everyone else????? the man who used the scarboro reel so what his choice ok to take his money though stop taking the p..s out of people using gear what seems to you primitive, look back what goes around comes round
  2. boat trip prices are now expensive, i remember the 80s paying a fiver, wage does not match these days as i used to go on boat every week now lucky if once a year at 40 + plus not worth the gamble ok blanking when paying a fiver lol, we not all made of money
  3. anchoring must be the only way to fish some wrecks, as drifting you can overdrift with the tide etc so miss the fish, i found info on the wreck you menioned souns big of what you say wrong post lol soz was aimed at wildcard sorry again
  4. if a record is to come it will be from the big boat not the inshore ones 20 mile in lol
  5. i still say record will not be broken no way on earth due to overfishng and electonics on trawlers just my thought
  6. just watched Modern Marvels Commerical Fishing from history channel on my pc, the hi tech gear these boats were using was amazing, one factory boat was getting 20 tons of fish in an hour, then siad scientists in 1999 once tracked a school of pollock more than 30,000 square miles and contained more than a billion fish, opened my eyes with the size of nets , methods there were using etc

ok if ya got 300 quid to spare, that would get us a hol in benidorm for week, no fishing is worth that much just my opinon
  13. good venue might try cowbar next anyone fished it or seaton carew
  14. First time i have fished this venue which to say was excellent, apart from the locals in village on the jetty its sprayed with the slogan Townies go home tells you it all really more of that in a minute, first we got that at low water plenty of bites from flounders used black lug and mussel as bait, plenty of mackeral getting caught on spinners caught a few myself on the small feathers using a light rod and fixed spool, m8 had a few fish too flatties and mackeral, finished fishing about 6 headed for car thats when we got eyeballed off a gang of locals in there 20s glad we were in car ready for the off, any earlier back i reckon we would have trouble just my instict giveing it a miss from now on stick to saltburn
