i did see your point tyke ,unless you have the origanal reciept anything can be stolen goods (i even saw "shrek" dvds being sold before the film had been screened over here ,i warned the owner of the field and the seller was evicted ) as for the insurance i had to stop it on being unemployed along with my personal accident policy ,i am only just being to post here by having cut backs ,its all right having a basic benefit rate for the country but unfortunatly it only takes into account what is paid in not what is being paid out we went to the car boot with funds from selling a cupboard (its started again ) when all the best furniture have gone then so does bt ,luckily we moved from a 5 bed house to a 1 bed so have a little longer online

twanging some times shifts them ,keep the line tight and twang the line (pull about 3 inches at a rightangle to the rod and let go)do it every few seconds if that doesnt work then put the tip under the water and try again

i agree david ,as mentioned in my earlier rant "doing it " isnt good enough but sit in a college for a few days get your cert and you can achieve anything ,i was passed up for a job in the computing section and although having "helped" their people many times with some of their problems ,my veiw (in the interveiw ) that a secure cupboard should hold the origanals of software packages and copies should be used for everyday use ,a couple of hard drives ,network cards ,floppy drives etc should be stored for use in emergencies ,they decided to award the post to a school leaver with NO experience but a IT certificate, they also found my cupboard idea a bit too radical
the school lever he lasted 3 weeks ,the job was divided up amoungst the other staff and added to their job description
if any machines break down the parts are ordered THEN ,the student waits untill they arrive and then waits for the now understaffed computer staff to fit them before he can carry on
radical maybe but who`s laughing now ?,NOT the students but the uni for saving a few quid on a staff member

this country has the law sown up pretty tight (despite what the police say there is adequate laws to stop you doing most things)
worse thing though is the " ignorence is no excuse " bit where even if you break the law " accidentaly" your guilty , if this is correct then how do you find out if your breaking the law ? the swift answer is unless you have lots of money you cant ,can YOU find a website where you can download ALL the laws of the uk so you can cure you ignorence NO you cant but this site may help a little
http://www.robinsonlaw.co.uk/0103.htm#ENVR
unfortunatly the site is under reconstruction so even this may not help
usually the "lesser " the offence is the more draconian the sentence (although there is less "background" work) i.e dog fouling i`ve seen signs warning of a £5,000 fine playing ball games = £1,000 fine ,knock down an old granny and noick her purse = smack on the wrist and a caution (more police work involved )
yes i know these are max sentences but its the thought that counts

i wish i were back at school ,i would have done every thing i could to have at least a small chance in the employment game ,i left at 15 with no exams at all suffered until i was 40 then i went to college and got a city & guilds now even that has lost its value and now other things such a gnvq, hnd etc rule ,next year i bet there will be a new certificate to "have to have" and another excuse for poor pay will emerge

traps for mice and rats should be placed along the side of a wall as the beasties sight isnt too good they feel their way around using their whiskers ,untill they get used to a feast in a certain place then they follow a scent trail ,the best bait for a mouse trap is a bit of kitkat or a large sultana.
its not only food the devils get i had a pair of gautex gloves "eaten" i found the remains of the stuffing lining a nest under the other shed a year later ,the darlings had made a all weather nest

the envoy crops up on ebay from time to time (keep an eye out for prices ) is it just a black one?
i suppose there are lots of stolen things at car boots ,i am sure this reel was kosher due to its neglect ,all my tackle (that i fish with)is marked with my postcode (using an engraver)the rest is open to an attack from naughty people and as i have no house insurance it would be a case of start again (not the first time)

the lake i fish in sometimes used to be stocked with trout for out of season activity (at a price) using bottoms of a pound or so the trout take so fast that they snap it straight away and although having had bites from them i have never caught one (never get a thing on heavier tackle) but have landed tench to 6lb and crucians with no bother otherwise
the rod is an old but favourite 14ft fibreglass match rod

my carp rods are 2lb through action ,i agree the range and accuracy are not as good as a tippy rod ,all you have to remember is adjust the drag to the hook length strenght (if its less than the mainline) i use 10lb mainline (which is about right)as you have a leeser poundage rod maybe a lighter line would "work" better ,remember keep it slow and if using barbless hooks keep the pressure on ,through action rods are great for those last fight before the net situations .i have landed a 40lb cat (caught on a boily)on this tackle (took 15min to land ,not so much of a fight rather a tug of war) so tench should be no problem on yours

go ahead take the pee the drum is a solid brass one made in 5 pieces (2 sides ,2 outer turned bits and a centre turning ) i should have taken a "before "picture but it would have been just a green lump
and for some of your benefits the 50p is 1997 you can buy the fifty p for a pound

despite the tv progs such as bargain hunt etc there are still "goodies" to be found at car boot fairs ,i saw this reel but it was so dirty and grotty i left it ,on the second time round it was still there so i felt sorry for it and bought it for £2 .On closer inspection i realised it was wooden with brass surround and face plate as it was so covered in verdigree i went in with the brass polish (horror ) but i think the end result was worth it and it has pride of place with the centerpin collection its made by carter of london ,there isnt a picture of it in phill wallers book anyone know its age?

a few years ago i got permission to metal detect on a large farm (it was my boss`e friend) the owner said a aircraft was supposed to have crashed there in the war ,i said i`d have a look but usually all traces were usually removed after the crash (although i did go out with a recovery group working on romney marsh where the aircraft were usually 20ft down ) the owner pointed out the woods where it had supposed to have crashed and on closer inspection a definate crash path could be made out (a line of snapped off tree`s that had regrown at the top) there was a couple of grassed over holes so i started there ,there was a mass of signals all of them bullet cases and all of them split or empty (i presumed the aicraft had caught fire )later proved right ,i also found an engine plate with the numbers intact (it was a german plate) and several hundred pieces of melted alloy .there was no sign of any large signals so we presumed any large pieces had been removed unless ofcourse they were a long way down but this was unlikely due to the shallow angle of the crash ,good luck with your search but dont expect any thinglarge that may resemble an aircraft.
