what would you describe as the best casting tecnique for a longer cast

cheers ken have done that,now let me get this right,i shall losen it about and try a few more casts,and i control the spool with my thumb ?is that right?

right just got back in ,i reckon i casted about 40 yds with a 3oz weight on ,i had the reel on as tight as it could go .i am going bak onthe fields tommrow,and i am going to adjust it to see if i can get more distance.i know distance isnt everythink somesay but i want to get out that little bit further.wil keep you posted tomoz.

thanks to all your advise everyone ,i am going on the field in a bit,i have tightend my reel and adjust it as i progress, wish me luck be back in hour an hour to let you all know.

hi i have bought my first multiplier reel an abu6600bcx with a right hand wind. i have only used fixed spools before and i am worried my first cast will be a total birds nest.any advice will be gladfully taken on board.

lots of nice harbours around mid wales eg newquay,struggling to help u with the shopping bit mate

dont suppose there is any around wolverhampton ,walsall or cannock u know of.

hi ppl does any one know of a sea angling club which provides transport ,acess etc as clubs do,for the westmidlands area.i would be good to meet up with fellow midland anglers.

hi ppl i am going to weston at the begining of nov ,and i have never been there before.any tips on where to fish piers, beach ,rocks and what rigs could i use for which species there plus what are your experiences and what you caught

thanks hoopy cant wait to get some distance at the moment i am hitting about 60yds with 3oz.i go on the field at the back of my house ,i just have to watch the dog walkers. oh and some of the chiks give me a funny look with me tackle out on a field.
