Its a different make, but my everyday workhorse is a 10'6", 8 weight, Enigma 'sea trout special' ~ its about ten years old now, taken many large rainbows, seatrout, grilse. and salmon, and a few Bass too. Whether you want to bully the fish to put them back, or play them, this rod does all the work. Its a fabulous casting rod, with ease I put the full line out, thats without all these fancy shooting heads, etc, etc,. Have a really good look/try on all the Enigma range.

Hi all from Ian in Sketty, Swansea, South Wales. I am, along with approx 12 other 'gentlemen', are staying in Haltwhistle for a few days salmon fishing on the South Tyne, in October. Have any of you any tips for this river. I understand the only bait is worm, so what is the favourite fly, and spinner, method, technique, etc I normally fish the fly in the Rivers Teifi & Loughor down here for Brown trout, Sea trout and Salmon. But, I have also fished the Coquet, Doon, Lynne and Tweed for Salmon with varying success. Also any recommendations for pubs/venues in Haltwhistle, or the surrounding area.
