Hello mate, I'm new to the forum but thought I share what I can with you.
I live in Caterham so only about 20 mins for you.
I've been to Bury Hill a couple of times this season for Pike and Zander. I have to say I haven't noticed and problems like the ones you speak of. However a litter problem doesn't surprise me as the only bins I have been able to find are right by the shop, none near any swims or anything, which I have to say I find a little strange.
The guy I have seen in the tackle shop who you pay for the tickets seems a friendly enought chap but some of the other staff my mate and I have encountered have been nothing short of miserable!!
Fishing wise their website goes on about how prolific the predator fishing is etc etc but I have to say we have only had one 6lb Zander between us over 2 full days! Infact my mate was considering writing to them to find out why their website states it is fishing so well yet when he went last Sunday not a single fish came out all day long (about 25 people fishing the place!)
Sure we are just starting up again after a long break so we could be missing a few tricks and our tactics could be a little off or of course we could just have been unlucky, that's fishing I guess.
I would say that it really is a lovely venue (very pretty) and for me the fact that it has Zander in it is a plus as there seems to be very few places round our way that offer the chance of catching a Zed. I'm not saying we wont go back there again, we will for sure, but at £11 for one rod and £5 for a second (I think that's right) it's not the cheapest day ticket to go and continually blank!
If you've not fished it before then definately give it a, you might have better luck than me and if you do be sure to tell me what I was doing wrong!
Hope this helps mate.
