  1. Hi Last summer saw me off Poppit Sands in Pembrokeshire, showing off my brand new Prowler Elite...Wife was filming me on the old vid cam and I set off for the back edge of the surf after the bass. Thought I was good at geting out through about a 4 foot surf, got myself all ready on the surf line, made my first cast and you gussed it, the bl**dy reel fell off. OK nor problem I thought, but I would paddle back in and get the spare, wife wes still filming as I came in on the surf, boy does that prowler go fast on a 4 foot wave!!!!! Anyways I got ditched off, hit me head on the bottom, took all the skin of my forehead and snapped me rod. Tight Lines
  2. Hi Bought my Ocean Kayak Prowler Elite last summer, did a bit of bass fishing off Pembrokeshire, but not too good. Any anglers know of a fishing kayak club in Somerset UK? Tight Lines
  3. Hi Used to be rats, but since fishing in France it’s got to be Coypu, they are big bu**ers. Also down in south of france its the wild boar, one of those in your bivvy and you know it. Tight Lines
  4. Hi Chard Res was full of skimmers, I was the fishery bailiff who stocked them back in the 80's. Some bigger bream came from Stourhead, but the majority from a fish farm near Honiton. The bream did very well and during the 90's pushed the carp into recline, but I understand as I no longer work or fish there, that the cormorants have plundered a lot of the bream. Walrow Ponds Highbridge has a good head of bream too Tight Lines
  5. Hi I fished it years ago, it was full of small fish, but top pond offered the chance of a carp. Bit difficult to find I recall. Best bet is to do as the others suggest and ring local tackle dealer. Let us know how you got on, I for one would be interested in what its like now.. Tight Lines
  6. Hello Newbie on here, so forgive my rambling on. I am sure with practice I will get to the point much quicker Having just returned to angling after a while away doing lots of other stuff, the urge to wet a line has become just too much to ignore. I live in North Somerset UK and have lots of drains and rhines to choose from, but the one that takes my fancy is the North Drain which flows into the River Brue. Looking on Google Maps it could be a great place to fish, looks pretty secluded and not pressured. Now to my point, has anyone fished the drain, any tips would be most grateful on species, baits and locations etc. Many thanks and of course Tight Lines!
