I was motoring along the M4 yesterday and passed over what looks like a massive complex of lakes near junction 11 at Reading? Does anyone know what they contain, who they belong to and has anyone fished them with any success?

Every time i open my kitchen cupboard i remember something I've read about bait additives such as cayenne pepper, aniseed and curry powder etc. Does anyone have a favorite bait additive that they use and does anything target specific species of fish? Do you think different species of fish like different flavours? I know predators aren't supposed to be fond of sweet flavours.

Maybe someone can advise me. I'm looking for a stillwater in the South of England that hold a decent head of rudd, i've never caught one over eight ounces before so want to mount a bit of a rudd mission this summer. Dorset/Hampshire area would suit best. Any ideas?
