  1. Hi , in croatia by this date winter should be weakening , but instead we have temperatures up to -10°C . For the first time in several years places where white fish used to spend winter are completely empty . Fish have moved and they are very hard to find . I wonder if u have similar expiriences in UK .
  2. So basicly if chub is present in a swim its likely that any other species would be scared off ?
  3. well ill put it this way , i would like to catch chub with a match+wagler rig , on medium fast flowing water , somewhere around 3 meter deep so i was wondering , which type of ground bait do chub work best with . . ill just mention that trotting is not an option , i want it to be strictly stationary type of fishing

    Rods

What is in your opinion best buy quiver tip rod , and best buy match rod
  6. ye ill use glasses to actually see them
  7. Today i took a walk with my friend who specialises in carp and grass carp fishing , and as we were walking by the water i noticed a mullbery tree growing just on the bank , later on we stumbeled on to three cherry trees also growing on the bank .. so i was thinking could these be places where carp naturaly come to feed and is there any sense in putting mullberies or cheries or actually any kind of berries that naturaly fall into the water ? has anyone tried any similar thing ?
  8. thanks allot Steve , i am a great admierer of your work , i've red most of your articels , googled half of the web searching for perch info and i would really be thankfull if u could give me some aditional pointers to perch fishing literature ( also book of the perch is unavailable in croatia so any chapters found on net would be apreciated) Thanks again Steve
  9. well catfish well over 30 pounds , pike up to 20 pounds but mostly around 8 or 10 pounds , asp around 4 pounds and 2 -4 pounds chub
  10. Well thats the thing no one targets them so there is no info on this fish , no one uses deadbaits or livebaits for this species , they are mostly cought on lobs but there are a lot of 2 pound specimen . Maybe the fish are neglected so they grow bigger ? i really want to find out
  11. Hi well here's another one for Steve , what kind of rod and reel u use for fishing perch ? i really want to feel the fight and still have enough power to stop the fish from going into snags . Maybe u could also check out my post , i will also use waggler rig and fish livebaits . Thanks in advance
  12. guess ill have to try livebaiting since lobs get devoured by prussian carp , and yea chrup is asp

    grass carp

hello , i dont know where but this is how u will catch grass carp , its essential that u feed one spot with a lot of corn , hemp , weat , mixed particles and tiger nut , the rig is same as for a carp but u dont use boiles , rather than that u put 2 corns and 1 tiger nut on the hair and a pice of your popup material just to make it balanced , and cast it on top of your feeding spot . you would alsow want to fish the shallow water possibly by the bank even half a meter from the bank just feed a lot 3-4 times a day and feed hard before the night fall ( if u r allowed to fish at night) hope this could help http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/7963/1002
  14. hello , im from croatia , in our country perch is not a targeted species especialy on this small rivers , so i have found a spot in the woods where a small river Česma flows through , in this time of year the flow is really slow , with very weak undertow , especialy because the river gets a little wider and deeper in this spot . when im on the water on my left there is a submereged tree(a quite large one ) and the bank is quite high and steep the depth is form 2 to 3 meters posibly more in the main current , i figuered that the best time to fish would be at dawn since the sun rises behind me , and i caught several smaller perch on maggot and lobworm , so i wanted to ask u is it worthwile fishing this spot since there is a lot of other predators out there including chub , chrup, pike , catfish and posslily zander .. there are also really large shoals of sunbleak and minnow i have to say that i red every article of the whole perchfishers group ( exept for Archie Braddock he's part wasnt available for free) , so any other advice would be apreciated
