  1. I have just been down there too, picked up the rod bag, small holdall and the headlamp, i also picked up the beach caster rod as i fancy having a go at that this year all for under 50 quid its not the best stuff but when ur on a budget will do the job
  2. I have 1 its not really a casting disaster but it was my first cast of the day, was fishing on the Thames in Reading, set my first rod up with a maggot feeder and cast it exactly where i wanted it put the rod down and turned to set up my 2nd rod, only for the rod to fly off the rod rest and luckily hit a tree giving me time to grab the rod before it shot off into the river. A passing barge had come past in close and caught my line just had to hold on till it stripped all my line off.
  3. Have seen a heron on someones back garden wall whilst working in Watford on wednesday obviously stalking someones garden pond, and there was one on the pond i was fishing yesterday in Yateley.
  4. I have got some maggots and lob worms, fished it last in the summer and had a few silver fish but not a lot crayfish were a major problem
  5. Hi all, Going to give the kennet at Northcroft recreation ground a bash 2morro has anybody fished it recently? any ideas on how its fishing?
  6. Ok, well i have joined the cemex forum so will ask on there like u suggested previously Thanks
  7. Hmmmm maybe the silver ticket is the way forward then, have you ever tried frimley pits?
  8. Is it worth going for the silver ticket instead of bronze i cant see myself fishing too many nights, does it pick up after dark?
  9. Oh thats good then because as i said before can only fish weekends, but am sure will be able to get some evenings in occasionally, would i have to get the silver ticket to fish till midnight or has the rules changed?
  10. does it get busy on pumphouse, horseshoe and summer pits? i often drive past and see a few cars in the car park, but never know which lakes they are fishing. Would have to concentrate my fishing at weekends as i work during the week.
  11. Hi all, I am looking at joining the cemex yateley lakes on the bronze ticket in the near future, and was wondering if it was worth joining in the spring or waiting for the summer to join, also if there was anybody out there with any tips on which lakes to fish or tactics which are good there, i am more of a pleasure angler so advice does not neccesarily need to be based on carp fishing although i do have some carp tackle and would give it a bash. Thanks in advance Dave aka fishybreathe
  12. Would have to go somewhere with other attractions nearby as will have the girlfriend with me, plus would be better if the lakes were onsight so i can sneak off when she not looking. would have to be on-site accomadation and dont mind where i travel to.
  13. Hi everyone, I am now starting to look forward to the summer and looking to book a holiday in the uk, for the last 2 years i have been to Devon and stayed on caravan sites which have lakes on, but i fancy a different part of the country. I am not really into carp fishing so mixed fisheries are ideal if anyone has any ideas for locations? cheers
