The Mirror are indeed backing this campaign - but to make it happen in a big enough way we need the support of the tackle trade. Tackle shops are buying ad space in it, The Environment agency is behind it, so is the Angling Trust and we are now persuading tackle manufacturers to back it with their cash. the campaign will be promoting, National fishing Month encouraging all of us to Take a Friend Fishing and will highlight all the good work Anglers do in presrving the environment. Look out for it - starting in July - and tell everyone. the more who know the more coverage angling will get. If we have a national newspaper bigging up fishing it'll take angling to another level. Yes - if membership was renewed after Feb 1st 2008 then you were automatically a member of the new organiation until the old subscription expired. So for example if you joined the ACA on August 1st 2008 you would be a member of the Trust until July 31st 2009. The money you paid for the old sub would have transferred to the new organisation.
