Hi Y New to the area moved from over west I have gone and had a walk round from the barrier to the bridge and its very shaggy lost my lead having a plumb seems deep so there has got to be fish read quite a bit on forums on bream but also want to go for the pike any suggestions? And also where I can park. Is the tidal water past the barrier good for any fishing I have had a look around the transporter Bridge the waters brackish prob quite polluted. Seal and corm at the barrier so fishing is good for them.....what great river though going to have to live here for the rest of my life to master it and join a club come Jan
  3. When is the best time to fish?
  4. best wishes, hope the recovery is swift and he is back down the bank soon
  5. Thanks all really handy stuff here. I'm going to try red i'll let you know how it goes ! :-)
  6. My idea would be to float mackerel on the top. To be honest i would like two fish two rods one active spinning and one on the bottom or the top. i don't know how i'd float the deadbait right on the top. If I go to the lake district (nearby) i'm going to have to get lucky from the bank so mebs on the bottom as said would be better. stuck as i want to get fishing but want to be as effective as I can be on such big lumps of water :-)
  7. what lure has given you most bites when fishing for pike? I have one big brass thing spinner but does other lures/spinners that are more sophisticated give an edge?
  8. is it a good idea to float deadbaits for pike or sink them? my mate says "float your out of your mind" i'm just new you see but mebs i'm looking at things differently
  9. Has anyone got any reccomendations for a spot to go in cumbria to catch carp?
