  1. the best roach venue in the area has got to be the river weaver. The roach on the red lion stretch go up to 10 oz and you can get bags of up to 20lb in winter. i don't know about summer but its surpposed to be a bit more wide spread instead of just a few pegs. hemp is the best tactic and tares on a 16/18 hook using stik or pole down the centre of the river. It also through up a few bream on groundbait and feeder tactic now and then but ive never had one.
  2. ive just come back off the bank of the river dee and anyone from the area should really get down onto the river. i had just under 6lb of fish in about 5 hours and had some nice roach as well. the river dee is back on form!!!

  4. I saw the same thing the other week at a fishery near me but there was about 4 and they were all on the bank and half eaten. this wasnt disease, i think it was maybe a mink or somthing like that. the ones i saw were not that big so i dont thing that fish was killed by a mink.

  8. I would ask around before you fish and find what you are trying to catch. but never underestimate the power of a stick float down the inside. good luck and enjoy

  12. Im not experianced but i would say that as long as you enjoyed catching the fish then you have done it rite. if your not in a match then you may as well bring then in slow but you have to match your hook length to what you you want to catch.

  24. This has been a big topic over the last few years and alot of fisherys (i heard) now ban barbless hooks because they make people put to much presure to keep the fish on the hook. I was wondering if anyone know wat is happening now?
