  1. I saw the Gravel Braid advertised from Drennan a few months ago, and thought it looked good, but haven't had a chance to get it from my local tackleshop as of yet. http://drennantackle.com/thelatest/2012/04...n-gravel-braid/ Has anyone tried it yet, and in what B/S? I might have to give it a try next season for method and feeder fishing on the rivers for bream and alike. Best regards, -Robin.
  2. Me and my mate had a bit of a discussion over loaded floats, as he ponders to use it when fishing the lift method. He believes it would work, if you lock the float using two float rubbers at either side of the float, and just one shot 5-10cm from the hook to sink the float, then plumb the depth, that it would give you proper lifts when the fish munches down the bait (we usually fish for tench and bream using the float). Me, on the other hand, believe it is outright B*LLOCKS I'd believe that, since the loaded float is already weighted down, and has just some of the tip showing of the float, it MIGHT just show a small indication that a fish is on your bait (maybe a plop, or that the float just sails away). And finally, to the question itself, would a loaded float (i.e Drennan Loaded crystal waggler) give you the proper lifts (that you get when fishing a Driftbeater/straight waggler) when fishing the lift method?
  3. Sorry to bother with such a silly thread, just figured out this fish wasn't caught by my mate, nor was it caught this year even. Checked the EXIF-info (geeky!) online, and got some info about the picture from there. FYI the pic was caught, wich presumes the fish was caught, July 28, 2008 10:30:29PM But, could it be a roach-rudd hybrid? I know roach can vary in colors alot, so is it possible this might be a hybrid?
  4. We both joke around with eachothers catch, saying it's not even close to that weight, "absolute bonusfish you lucky b*stard!", etc. etc... This time it's just a matter of insecurity wether it really WAS his catch or if he ripped it of Google or something, he's a cheeky bugger really
  5. I spoke to and old friend of mine over the past couple of days, and we came upon the subject of coarse fishing. Of course we both dabble in both rivers and lakes, but he had caught a bonus roach a few days ago while perch fishing in a zander-lake. Although i'm glad he caught this roach, wich was 2.2lbs, i'm usually not someone to miscredit someones catch and claim that picture might have been taken from a random website of a specimen roach. But first, i've never seen him wear an camouflage outfit/jacket (wich hasn't caught on here in Sweden) and the picture is quite small even though it's shot using an DSLR Anywho, does anyone know where this picture origin (website or forum), or am i the only one who is crazy enough to not trust his bonus fish? Here's the pic below: http://www.fiskesnack.com/fotoalbum/images...Moert_1030g.jpg
  6. I do realize there is a difference between T.C and rod-action, i usually prefer slow/medium-action rods for all my fishing. My question was more based towards the people who perhaps have fished with the W-wood Rouge Barbel rods I'll have to take another look through my closeby tackleshops to see if they could order it in for me.
  7. I've heard alot of great things being said about the Wychwood Rouge Barbel-rods, both for tench and other similar species. I am actually thinking about ordering 2 for myself used for bream method-feeder fishing with bolt-rigs. Wich t.c would you recommend for the above tactics?
  8. I'm more the number 2 type of angler. Most of my fishing is in rivers that are less than 100yards from the closest road or highway, wich really isn't fun in the long run. Yes, the angling could be good most of the sessions, but as soon as i've figured one stretch out i'm always on the hunt for another stretch - or even a secluded small forest lake in the hunt for specimens...
  9. Cheers fellas, i will try baiting up meanwhile and before sessions to have the bream in one or more spots i'll be fishing. The groundbait i've been using consists of two different ones depending on how deep the swim is. MVDE Gold Pro Bream Red w/ a touch of MVDE Brasem, and a few bags of Sensas 3000 Bream. Both groundbaits are topped of with some liquids, either Scopex or brasem, but i haven't tried freebies or loosefeeding the swim. I'm just curious if it would work with using brown and white bread crumbs with just 20-30% or more readymade groundbait to give it some smell to it? If i would bait up before hand with 1-2kg. Although there is still a month or so until the rivers and lakes clear up from all the ice this harsh winter has provided, it is still a good idea to have some preperations made and an idea of how to start fishing
  10. Greetings to all of u coarsefishing addicts! I'm a new member here that found his this place all the way from Sweden, where i do my fishing in mostly rivers for bream and roach, but also spinning for perch and pike. When i'm fishing for bream in rivers i tend to get alot of activity around the swim when i bait up with a feeder, usually there's fizzing and lots of smaller fish that try to snatch my hookbait. It takes some time before the small fish get full and move away from the swim. But when the bream arrive i tend to hook one, land it, release it and when i cast out to my marked spot the bream have scattered i guess and aren't interested of the food i'm offering. Are there any hints and tips of how i could keep the bream in the swim for a long period? What bait could i fill the feeder/groundbait with to have them grubbing around more on the river bed?
