  9. Hi all been a while since I last posted with family comitments and job taking up most of my free time haven't been fishing as much as I would have liked. But have managed a few sessions on the local lake and canal. Last session must have been over 3 weeks ago now and went to a generally neglected park lake that is good for small jack pike and a few big girls but mostly used by carp angler in the summer. Went there with an old mate who haven't seen in a good while so was mainly a social catch up really . Unfortunately I blanked but my mate had a few good Jacks to about 3lb and lost what looked like the lakes infamous big girl roomerd to be in excess of 30 lb but who knows. I was using all my spinning armery an had loads of follows but no takes and couldn't explain why. However when I looked at what my mate was landing them on explaned it all the new 3D real eels in black green purple and fire tiger - most caught on the black n green but never the less looking at the action to them in real life is amazing and no wonder he was getting such good takes ! So asked where he bought them and said when he was on a work trip came a cross a tackle shop called future fishing and said only cost him £9 for two ! Cheapest I can find online was 9.89 with 2.60 postage ! But bit the bullet and bought the black n green ones and going to give them a go after Xmas maybe even tomorrow if an persuade the mrs to let me go to work early and as the park lake is close to work may even have a on in a short session fingers crossed Ill take a video and post on YouTube and add the link if I do get to wet a line befor or afte Xmas Have a goo one all and best wishes over Xmas and new year . Wish me luck for a end of year pike please all lol
  10. Woul love to be able to go next year , would have to clear it with the mrs first tho ... Hopefull be the first sessions where I can have a new PB tench and perch

  13. Prawns are what I always use when not using the lure, found that king prawns are brilliant at my local lake through the summer months and early on in the year , but if add a generous amount of predator plus liquid it makes the swim boil with them - great as no pike are in the water - also try a maggot feeder rig with a cotton wool ball soaked in blended worms maggots and van den eynde predator plus makes a lethal attractant and use a lob as hookbait add prawns to mix if using as hookbait. Also the soup is great in some brown crumb on a method feeder with prawn or half lob as hookbait.
  14. Ill have some videos uploaded on my YouTube page hopefully by end of next week , had a lot on this year and kept forgetting my camera but must say the Goliath is one hell of a rod !!! Look forward in showing videos to you when I can speak soon
  15. Are you meaning the new arrival there phone ? Had a little girl ill see If I can get a pic of her on here later today
  16. Hi all it's that time of year I want to go and catch some perch or pike spinning but where to go . As most of you know recently had a new arrival and hadn't had much time fishing. Where would be best to go with a light lure rod 3-18g a medium 10-40g and medium/heavy 20-60g traveling isn't a problem as long as its within merseyside. I know the canal near melling is good but want to target perch particularly on the light rod and avoid a trace but its impossible on canal as jacks will likely be caught as well. Any advice or locations will be taken and visited if I have any chance thanks all
  17. was thinking about doing that but, the box i have is rather heavy and may break the cheap frames they are made of

  20. Yesterday managed to persuade my misses to let me go fishing for the day on the terms I was back by half 4. So this morning headed out to a local council lake in Kirkby and set up and baited swims I wanted to target. Firstly the far island bank with the method feeder using micro pellets and B&M brand mini boilies I set myself a hard day with this swim but along with a float rod and telescopic 8 meter pole had the margins covered along with the middle. Bait for these where expander pellets and sweetcorn with ground bait around where I was targeting. Was an anything will do day as was eager to just catch even if it was a 2oz fish I wouldn't care. After about 30 mins of setting up and casting out I had a small skimmer bream to about 12 oz so was happy I had caught . After several hours and numerous bumped fish on the float changed tackticks to free lining bait to no avail so put the float rod away and kept the pole and method feeder out. No sooner after putting the float rod back on the quiver the method feeder bent so fast I nearly flew off my seat , and managed to land a nice 2.8lb common unfortunately no pics as phone was dead and no camera. Set back up and cast out again and within seconds a Bream of about 1 1.5 lb was hooked , didn't weigh it as wanted to get it out the net ASAP to reduce cleaning the slime from the net. After these two good fish the day got a bit too hot and I decised to start packing up and was home by 5, and with me having caught some fish I was happy sothe misses didnt mind too much that I was late home. Planning another session for the weekend now as in work all week at 5 so would have to be short sessions if I decide on an early morning tickle if line. Best of all managed to christen the method rod with the carp and was happy catching anything. Next time I'll be sure to have a camera man ( Stubbs you know you want to hahaha) and have a good time. Until then Tight lines all and hope you had a good day too
  21. My dearest condolences budgie, thoughts are with you and family during this hard time
