if it was me i would use some bread or dog buscuit from the surface on a calm day and if u can get regular pellets of groundbait to a secluded area then wen u can get a session u can try to get the area u prebaited. if thats not possible just try to fish where ppl are leaving and ask them wat they was using and try to match it so ur fishing over the same bed of bait with the same bait.

hi all im new to this site and have just taken carp fishing back up after a good long break. started fishing again on a local lake and now i am interested in catching carp on the river ( hence the title of this post ). i have never caught a carp or even attempted it on the medway. i can fish around maidstone way with no problems so places like allington farliegh etc but i aint got a clue where the "spots" are so landmarks like pubs will help me with where things are. definatly after carp, and would love to catch chub barbel cuz never caught them on lake or river. so any areas,tips and specific directions, as i am hopeless at findin places with no prat nav, would be greatly appreciated cheers gale
