  1. Hi,I don't suppose anyone knows where I can get a spool (metal if poss.) to fit the Shimano 4000 GTMStradic x, that could be posted to Spain? I can't find one anywhere? Cheers eaglet
  2. As said I can't find the same reel don't think they make them any more! mine was the 4000 GTM.
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have a Shimano 4000 GTM which is approx. 7yrs old since I bought it, never serviced (been here nearly 5 yrs) and I love it but I've never noticed the fighting drag to be as good as a free spool! I've just been on a site for Spro reels but it seems they only do 2 :- http://www.scribd.com/doc/66870764/Spro-Reels-2012 p33. Can't really make out the size, I'd like the same as the Shimano that I have if possible but they don't do my model any more. I notice that the Spro reels have quite a few? Any other thoughts, it's seems you may be my only 'adviser' at the moment, Cheers

  7. Hi, I currently live in Spain and want to by a 'small' baitrunner. I'll need to ship the reel out here. What I'm after is advice on one that I can confidently buy without viewing/testing/handling the reel hence me asking you guys out there as I've had good advice before. I've got the Med/Larg. Shimano's which I use for carp I expect to be 10lbs and over but I'd like a smaller reel that'll comfortably handle the 'under' tens that are physco's and think they are much larger and will snatch your rod off your sticks in the blink of an eye. I know you shouldn't take your eye off your tackle but when you pour a cuppa it helps to have a good 'runner' attached to your rod! As said I'm relying on your help as I can't test the reel before use. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated, Cheers eaglet

    HELP

Hi, Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately this Pit Paste cost's over £10 to ship over to me in Spain and £7 + to buy which I thought was very expensive. I went onto a US site and the guys on there rate Elmers Wood filler which can be bought on ebay, etc and is over half the price. Think I'll give that a try, Cheers eaglet

    HELP

Hi, Not sure if this the right forum, maybe someone can either answer my question or direct me to the forum I should use? I have a Fox Kevlar Barbel which is a great rod albeit a few yrs old. The cork around the reel seat has started to rot/break away as if rotting or been eaten. It hasn't affected the use of the rod yet but before it does I'd like to repair it. All this said is there a compound that be be worked into the damaged area then sanded or whatever to repair the area? I don't think adding new cork sections would help as the area where the damage is isn't full sections of cork because of the reel seat. Any ideas readily accepted. I thought of buying a new butt section but if still made it'd cost a lot and p+p to Spain where I live would also be expensive and not cost effective hence this letter for help. Cheers eaglet
  10. Hi Rob, Thanks again for your reply. Not sure what I'll need exactly to do this but getting the basic stuff over here can be hard work. Do you know of any vidoe type of info. eg youtube that explains what's needed visually? Cheers
  11. Thanks to you and the other guy's for taking time out to advise me and sorry for the delaying in replying. I'll persevere and take on board what you advise but have a few Polaris floats it's an expensive game throwing them away. Still not the end of the world and thanks again, Cheers eaglet Thanks to you and the other guy's for taking time out to advise me and sorry for the delaying in replying. 12. Hi, I have both of this style of float and fish deep Embalses/Dams in Spain. I like to use these style of floats as I like to look at something rather than watch a tip or listen for an alarm. My query is of late both styles of floats don't seem to want to rise to the surface. I've left slack line for ages and they just don't want to rise. With the Polaris I'm using the correct size line for the 'hole' and the locslide floats, well I don't know as I'm not using heavy line but neither float wants to rise. Any experts out there who could advise please?? Cheers eaglet
  13. Hi, I'm looking at buying a new tackle holdall and getting it shipped to Spain. Can anyone point me in the right direction ref: make and shipping or give advice on either of these 2: Korum ITM Tabletop Carryall @ £49.99 or the Korum ITM Tabletop Ruckbag @£69.99? Cheers eaglet
  14. Thanks Andrew, I'm not having a lot of luck!! Cheers Eaglet
  15. Hi Teme Man, Thanks. Just checked Masterline Tackle and it comes up with Latham Tackle. Is that the place?? Cheers
  16. Thanks Andrew. As I said I'm in Spain so didn't want to spend my time on the phone on the off chance. Shame that there's no email addresses. Cheers
  17. Hi, I've just bought a Leeda Assassin 11mtr pole with 2 pre-elasticated top 2's. There is no mention of elastic strength. Being fairly new to pole fishing and with fish welfare in mind I think it would be irresponsible of me to fish for eg. carp if the elastic rating is to light or, visa versa, bleak if it was way to heavy. I'm sure you'll agree with my sentiments? I asked Tackle UK who sold me the pole and they said they didn't know take it to the local tackle shop. Well I live in Spain and that isn't really an answer over here. They said contact leeda on sales@leeda.co.uk. I've tried 3 times, no answer. I checked the forums and the last mention that I found for an address was in 2005. I've written but don't hold out much hope. I appreciate that I could change the elastic and fit whatever I want but it would be a waste of buying the pole with the elastication deal. All this said can anyone advise me of Leeda's address. Cheers

    HELP

Hi Tony, Thanks for the reply. I've also been told about these 2 as well - Leeda Assassin 11m Pole - Daiwa 11m SR1 Pole. What do you know about these? The XTA didn't appear to have any 'tops' (when I said I couldn't see the poles I mean't physically not via web sites). Do I need an actual margin pole?. If you've time I'd appreciate any other advice you can give. Cheers eaglet

    HELP

Hi, Desperately trying to find a good make of pole that'll handle 18/20 elastic and small to medium (occaisionally up to 10 lbs.) sized carp that are psycho's. I need it to be 9.5 - 11mts. long, light, stiff and cheap. Sorry this may be a tall order but my budget is limited, up to about £200. I'm asking the forum for help because I live abroad and can't view/source these poles from here but have a friend in the UK at present who's willing to bring one back for me if I can get one by mail order sent to his place in the UK. As said I can't test/look at these poles so I'm relying on the experience/knowledge of you guys. Can anyone please help??? Cheers
  21. Hi, I have recently had some of the above pots of these pastes sent me but would like to stiffen them more, any ideas how I go about this please? Cheers
  22. Hi, I'm moving to Spain and can't find anyone to take my fish off of me. As long as they are collected and go to a good home who knows what they are doing I'd be happy but can't find anyone locally who wants them. It's a 3 ft Wood framed tank on a stand with 1 Plec, and 5 Tanganyikans( 2 Juli's and 3 Lelupi's ) that I've had for a few years now and they are thriving, although one of the fish has an ulcer/growth in it's gill, but that's been there for a few years and doesn't seem to affect the fish at all. Undergravel filter, new pump and light, etc. If you're interested or 'no a man who is' please contact me. I live in Stanwell, Middx. Cheers eaglet
  23. Hi, I sent an email to sales@hlstackle.co.uk looking for an item of tackle. It was replied to by a staff member saying they couldn't help but if I found what I was looking for they would be interested. I had a contact name but no phone no. I found what I was looking for elsewhere and this morning tried returning the mail by reply, forward or typing in the address it keeps getting returned from this address MAILER-DAEMON@www.secure-epay.co.uk and it gets returned 3 times. Not the end of the world but I can't work out why and it's annoying me now. Any PC boffins out there know what's happening and why????? Cheers eaglet
  24. Hi Guys, Does anyone know where I can get one of the above that's about 10ft long, carp friendly and as said zip bottomed, and reasonably priced of course? I found one on the madaboutfishing site but it made no mention of the carp friendly part, it mentions - National Byelaw 4, Phase 1 (01/04/1997) - but I can't find out what that refers to. Cheers
