THANKS thats really helped , i do have a tropical fishtank that i use at home to adjust the float that seems to work well . it was confusing me with what shot to put on mostly with all the numbers . thanks again to everyone . chris

I have done something similar to this idea but sat on the bank , me and a few mates thought it would be funny to tye a peice of string around our nobs with a hooklenght on the end to see if we could catch anything . pulled out a few small roach and caught a few crays from the margins . was quite scary thinking about if we was going to get a carp . would have soon turned out to not be that fun. im slightly more serious now chris

mine has to be pepperami cut up .. didnt catch anything on that like . love to hear the really strange ones and what you caught ?

right.. ive started to sit at home and make my rigs up instead of buying premade rigs . the only problem i seem to get is knowing how much shot to put on to get the correct depth on the float. i have a float that says 4x14 on the side , does this meen 4 size 14 shots or am i wrong ? all i find myself doing is agusting it when i get to a peg . help appriciated thanks chris

I havent fished that part of leeds liverpool canal , mainly for the fact i dont live that side of leeds . but i have fished near rodley side and i had the same problem. everything i tryed failed . i think time of year , im going to leave the canals for few months then try again. chris

Hi everyone , im thinking of spending a weekend at The oaks lakes fishery at sessay, near Thirsk. just wondered if anyone has been and could you tell me what its like . which of the 10 lakes is the best ? best results anyones had? best baits ? and just an overall opinion of the place and how it was or is ? any help appriciated , thanks chris
