  1. Paul - so they bloody well should, and yes I will be watching.

And didn't England prove my point? See what happens when they play positive and put the Bangladesh bowlers under pressure. That is how they should play, stamping their authority on the game and be POSITIVE! All they did in the first innings was play negative and let the Bangladesh bowlers dictate to them.

Look at the Aussies, they are the benchmark in world cricket and by far the best team. How do they play? They try from the outset to dictate the play and never let the opposition bowlers settle into a routine. Have you ever known a recent Aussie batsman to take 260 balls to make a half century?

Remember this is a spectator sport that is dieing a slow death in this country, hence the introduction of the 20/20 cup to try and encourage youngsters into the sport. Even I, a die hard cricket fan, found Hussain's first innings a turnoff.

  2. Climax Tackle are know advertising the Nash Hurricane Special at £99. I have one of these and am suitably impressed (although I paid £170 for mine  ). Comes with aluminium poles that can be kept attached to the bivvy, ground sheet and an extra winter skin. I personaly think it is a quality piece of kit that is quick and easy to errect and have no problem reccomending it.

  3. Gees guys give me a break. I am a massive cricket fan hence my passion. Ian, I understand what you say about the pitches on the sub-continent, but just look at the performance of Giles and Batty compared to the Bangladesh spinners, not to mention their averages. We also had only 2 partnerships of any note with 2 all to common colapses.

Paul, lighten up on me. I don't think being British makes me superior in any way. I do think that the English cricket team, at this time, should be superior to the Bangladesh cricket team. We are after all third in the Test Rankings while Bangladesh are rock bottom with 0 points.

I fail to see how any English cricket fan can be over-the-moon with the performances so-far, even though it seems we will win. Remember, in the first test, Bangladesh out played England for 3 of the 5 days.

Can I have my head back know guys? :D

  4. What a load of tosh, what a bunch of namby-pamby embarressments!

This is Bangladesh for christs sake, who have not won a test match in their entire history. Bet they wish they could play England for every test series.

Nasser Hussain, the former England captain with masses of test experience, was totaly bamboozled by a 17 year old spinner.

Oh and don't forget the extremely poor run rate the English batsmen struggled to make....2.5 runs an over!

Prepare to be the laughing stock of the cricketing world.

  5. Hole? squealing pig?

Are we reading the same thread??? I expect you would have banned yourself from your forum then argyll. Or are you a hypocrite!

Once again, sorry Chris. Shame someone came along to lower the tone of your thread.

  6. Interesting argyll, you preach and insult us, obviously from some moral high ground. Then you follow your post and change the context by dragging the thread into the gutter. The discussion was about whether certain words offend, well it seems you've purposely tried to offend me.....Sorry, I found it quite amusing considering your previous post. :D:D:D

  7. Stool, intercourse and vagina. All words in the English language. Do you find these offensive Argyll?

If you do, I suggest you concentrate your energies on something a little more worthwhile. Life is just too short!

And please don't let yourself believe (as it seems you do), that you are more intelligent and worthy than those that use an asterix. And no I do not write on toilet walls.....I draw pictures!

  8. I think maybe we are losing perspective here. Of course stringing explanatory swear words together with various nouns, verbs etc to form a statement aimed at someone/something is not acceptable in public.

Where as the odd exclamation used singulary i.e F***, S*** or C*** surely cannot be offensive. Lets face it, we all know what they mean and they are only slang for a "proper" and "acceptable" word.

Please, I would be most interested to know. If I was fishing with any of you and I muttered S**T after losing a fish, would you be offended and if so, why?
