  2. Thanks all, i'm working on it!

BTW, the start-up page is also showing "shared memory 16mb", it used to be 64mb.

I also ran the anti-virus on Norton Systemworks and it found a TROJAN  . Do you think this is the cause?

  3. Sorry, could do with some help........again. :o

When I turn my pc on and the start up page appears (the page that lists my pc spec), it has started listing my processor as an Athlon 1100mhz. I know it is infact an Athlon 1700xp, which up untill yesterday it stated. Anyone have any ideas why it now says 1100mhz???

The're on my wish list also, i've had a close look at them and they look fantastic. Coming from Grey's I imagine they fish aswell as they look to.

One thing that did put me off (slightly) was the blank. The butt section is fitted out beautifully with the carbon weave visable, but the top section is different as you can't see the weave. It almost looks like two seperate rods.

Overall, the blank is ultra slim and I noticed that there is a choice of the usual split grips or a full handle. The cheapest i've seen them is £90 each, i'll look it up if you wish.

  5. Great replies, thanks.

I usually get to the coast 3-4 times a year and sometimes it's hard to find a local tackle shop, hence my question. I remember one time fishing at night from an "out of the way" Welsh harbour with three Nash Monster Mussel boilies threaded on the hook. :D

  6. OK, I'll start a new thread instead of hi-jacking others.

Is it really such a silly question to ask if anyone has tried the pink and white crab/fish sticks that can be found in supermarkets as bait?

I would be really, really interested to know if they have been used with any poitive results.

    Please!!!

  7. Just stumbled onto this thread and it reminded me of a question I have been meaning to post. Have any of you tried fishing with crab/fish sticks, the pink things they sell in supermarkets? I have thought about trying them myself when on trips to the coast.

Oh and another thing, Alans disgorgers are the dogs wotsits!

  8. I understand what you all say but I must admit to loving fireworks. Perhaps raising the age limit on purchasing them to 21 would help to stop the youngsters from getting their hands on them. I've also seen shop staff on numerous occasions sell fireworks to kids that are obviously under 16, clamping down on these with bigger fines should also be a priority.

  9. How about this Littlefeathers..........core, peel and chop apples and place in a large bowl. Next add 1/2 bottle of vodka, 1/2 bottle of white rum, 2 bottles of red wine and a glass of fruit juice. Bingo! you can drink straight away, no waiting.

  10. Hello Perch King

First things first, i'm no expert but am happy to share my thoughts. I don't think there are any set in stone rules, sure as the winter and colder temps arrive you will see the carp move to deeper water, but this is just a generalisation. Wind speed and direction, air pressure and time of day will all affect a carps feeding habits. I beleive you will still find carp in the margins throughout the colder months, especially during a couple of warmer days in between cold snaps. Just remember to cut down on the freebies and perhaps fish with single baits in the winter and i'm sure you will still catch.
